SJonesWX
No 70", But this year was not going to be good with no sustain cold or retaining a snow pack, So i pretty much have wrote off the snowmobile season this year, Typically starts around the 2nd week of Jan into the end of Feb unless you go into NW Maine to ride mainly off trail into march and early april, But not for this 50 something old body, Outside of a fun 2 hrs of snow this winter with 4"/hr rates, Pretty meh i am very close to bailing on the snowmobile season. i might go ahead and summarize my sled. put some sta-bil in the tank and fog the motor. makes me wish i never dragged it off the trailer to clean it up this fall. radarman
There's actually been a few in southern and central Vermont up to about Sugarbush/Montpelier. March 2014 was good, but like you mention, better for C VT. That was a chilly one on the hill... I recall a high of about 0 and 35mph winds. CapturedNature
Look at extended temps through mid next week. Other than Sat morning, overnight lows in upper 20s with highs near 40f. This sucks hard. I know maple producers who started tapping their trees to take advantage of the pattern. I'm waiting for a couple of weekends because I have some new lines I'm running but if I wasn't doing that, I'd probably tap too. There could be some good runs with the modeled temperatures. Why not?
