powderfreak
PF, when was the last one? Cuz past several winters it's been wide right or sne hits. I can't recall last interior bomb besides vday 07. There's actually been a few in southern and central Vermont up to about Sugarbush/Montpelier. The most recent top 5 storm was March 6-7, 2011. We picked up 27" in Stowe with like 3-4" of QPF. We had an inch of rain before it even started snowing. That was a fun event...rain to freezing rain to heavy snow for 12-15 hours. The Montpelier, VT ASOS was ripping off 0.2"/hr liquid as snow for a few hours, and that's at an ASOS that's prone to undercatch in any wind. Just pouring snow. Never expecting these amounts to happen with any frequency, but we do average a decent amount of 6-8+ type events that seem to be missing in recent years. dryslot
What's your average like 90 No 70", But this year was not going to be good with no sustain cold or retaining a snow pack, So i pretty much have wrote off the snowmobile season this year, Typically starts around the 2nd week of Jan into the end of Feb unless you go into NW Maine to ride mainly off trail into march and early april, But not for this 50 something old body, Outside of a fun 2 hrs of snow this winter with 4"/hr rates, Pretty meh

The following were paste jobs for me in ORH: Feb 24, 2013...........8.1" Apr 1, 2011.............7.0" Feb 24, 2010.........11.7" Jan 17-18, 2010......8.4" Even MLK 2014 was a paste job, but it was only about 5.8" so I wouldn't really count it. weatherwiz
Doing this for the 100000th time b/c I'm always replacing things but is this a good process to do... I'm breaking down ENSO winters into strength and just compiling DJF temp anomalies. For the years which were borderline (weak/mod), (mod/strong) is it best to include them in both sets? For example in my list of weak years I used the reanalysis site to plug all the years in to get one composite. But a few of those years were borderline weak/mod so I included them in both the weak dataset and mod data set.

Streets were a disaster but always plowed and drivable. DC got 17". They can't handle big snow.
