RUNNAWAYICEBERG
Boarder-line comical; re: Variability on the GFS OP solutions beyond 5 days. Anyone want to take a stab as to why? Because it's not a good model would be my first guess. My second would be, too many sw's in the flow for a bad model to digest.

ROOSTA
Unless its the RGEM, Nothing Canadien should come into the convo Or the GFS op. Come to think of it may I suggest "if" anyone uses NAM in any context they should be given A HUGE I mean HUGE time-out until let say election day 2020....LOL
dryslot
EPS have come around to the GEPS, for some reason the GEPS is way better than the OP I would have to look up its verification scores from its Op model

Come to think of it may I suggest "if" anyone uses NAM in any context they should be given A HUGE I mean HUGE time-out until let say election day 2020....LOL Nam is somewhat useful when it comes to convection as its a meso, But the GFS Op tends to flip flop from run to run and loses systems only to bring them back then end up being wrong when you need it in the short term...........lol

Dan
read the afd from last night seems they were thinking 1 to 2 did they upgrade after? Its a very narrow band of 10-15 miles wide. I think all the ingredients came together just right to have it occur. Around 3am they mentioned someone had 6" at that point and started to see this narrow band slowly sit there. Not sure it was something they could have necessarily foreseen.

ineedsnow
thats why i said that ryan said there was a wsw up but the afd said 1 to 2 earlier in the night if the wsw came after then yes it would have been a surprise snow as kevin said Its a very narrow band of 10-15 miles wide.
