packbacker
Too bad we're going toward a 97-98 type of look. We're going to waste all of our great blocking and the pacific is going to be a mess. Then, the pacific will shape up and the blocking will go away. We can't ever win. Winter is over. LOL...I am a little less bullish on any short term chances at snow (next 2 weeks) but end of Jan into Feb should be good assuming we maintain blocking and the pac low in GOAK shifts SW a little. packbacker
We had this wonderful winter event in 98, I am hoping for 5" for RDU this winter so a couple of these in end of Jan into Feb seems reasonable.
Poimen
Today was a first--the first time I ever mowed the grass while it was snowing. Come to think of it, it was the first time to mow the grass in January, and hopefully the last.

You would have to think the odds of a 5" snow (for RDU) is pretty good; but I wouldn't bet anything with our weather.

kvegas-wx
I once was vacationing in Gulf Shores AL and while we were driving around town we heard a DJ leave a song on repeat while he left the studio. We played putt putt, same song. We went to dinner, same song. It must have played over 40 times straight. Now lets talk about the pattern thread...... jshetley
We need an exact repeat of Jan 24-25 2000 around the Carolinas. 1 foot of snow fell here.

calculus1
We need an exact repeat of Jan 24-25 2000 around the Carolinas. 1 foot of snow fell here. Was it during a tropical storm? Cause there's no way that you got 1.2 inches of QPF during a non-tropical event (assuming it was a 10:1 ratio).

CaryWx
'Twas no TS but we had 20 inches where I live. One heck of a wind up bomb off the coast. Edit: I would say we had 10:1 initially that evolved into 15 or 20 to 1 as this thing got really going.
