Columbia just updated to:

NO CHANGES AT THIS TIME TO THE CURRENT WARNINGS/ADVISORIES AS
CONFIDENCE IS HIGH FOR SIGNIFICANT ICING TO OCCUR ACROSS FAR
NORTHERN MIDLANDS WITH A GRADIENT TO LESS ICE ACCUMULATION MOVING
SOUTHWARD. THERE IS UNCERTAINTY IN HOW FAR SOUTH THE SHALLOW COLD
LAYER WILL MAKE IT AND HOW FAR NORTH THE WARM ADVECTION WILL PUSH
AS THE SURFACE LOW APPROACHES AND TRANSITIONS TO THE COASTAL LOW.
THINK FREEZING RAIN IS POSSIBLE IN COUNTIES SOUTH OF THE ADVISORY
AREA INCLUDING COLUMBIA METRO AND SUMTER AREAS BUT WITH GROUND
TEMPS RELATIVELY WARM AND UNCERTAINTY IN THE EVOLUTION OF THE LOW
LEVEL THERMAL PROFILES THIS FAR SOUTH THINK ANY ICE ACCUMULATION
WILL BE NEGLIBLE AT THIS TIME AND LIKELY TO OCCUR ON TREES AND
ELEVATED SURFACES WITH LITTLE IMPACT ON ROADS. AGAIN...THIS COULD CHANGE WITH NEW MODEL INFORMATION AND OBSERVATIONS LATER TONIGHT.

I would like to point out that the RGEM from 12z did have CAE at 51F today and it has verified.  The 06z had 52F.  00z had 49 or so.

For the area to get substantial ice, it needs to be 31F or lower.. 27-30F and light rain best.. and not sure we are going to get that cold.

From what I just looked at on a weather site, we aren't predicted to go 32 or under until like 5 am Sat morn. By then the storm is mostly over.

BigFrosty, you're getting slammed dude.  I'm thinking you get 15"....  how many years has it been since you've had that much?  Not that many if my memory is serving me correct, didn't you get like 18" or 19" a couple years back?

Will be in Clayton by sunrise tomorrow and I see gsp forecasting 4 to 6 inches of snow/sleet by then and an additional 3 to 5 inches of all sleet tomorrow lol...never have seen that much sleet.

Damn dude, hope you have 4WD.   I was thinking of heading up to highlands but by the time I get off work it would be kinda pointless.
