Obs notes from the past 30 minutes from Rogers City, MI (NE Lower MI near Alpena).

7:00pm - Winds picking up significantly. Easterly gusts up to 34 mph. The neighbors Xmas lights are falling off their trees.

7:15pm - Winds is still just as strong. Radar indicates snow precip will hit any time. Expecting visibility to go from good to awful in a matter of minutes once it hits.

7:20pm - First snow from the storm actually hitting the ground, large fluffy flakes. Current temp is 24 degrees, up two degrees since 5pm.

7:23pm - Snow intensity picking up, blowing sideways down my street.

7:30pm - Fluffy snow coming down in sheets now. I barely can see the street light a block down from my living room window. Winds still strong.

Light precip continues as IP.

Heavier returns soon to move in again, with OBS sites showing IP or -SN to the southwest.

Finally have flipped over to plain rain.

CC shows that will be short lived, with a flip back to IP likely soon.

Looks like snow is as close as DKB now.
