Typhoon Tip
Box got a winter storm watch up for western areas now for up to a half inch of ice Light dawns on wintry heads... It's painfully obvious they were missing the boat on this... Every climo model that's synoptically derived there is for our region has this as a short-duration ice storm period. And I hunch they are playing catch-up here. There is no way a nascent polar air mass with event entry DPs in the single digits, PARKED solidly N (not retreating) as this is passing through, is going to yield and warm the lower layers. wrong - and that December warm soil thing was infuriating to be frankly honest. Yea...my dew is at 15, although down from last check, I expect precip in about an hour or so, and from what I'm reading it won't be snow. Worried about icing here, somewhat of a valley to trap the cold down
