powderfreak
Event totals: 4.3” Snow/0.56” L.E. Snow started up here a bit after midnight, and it’s very dense stuff comprised of small flakes. Density of this morning’s stack from the snowboard was 13.0% H2O. Details from the 6:00 A.M. Waterbury observations: New Snow: 4.3 inches New Liquid: 0.56 inches Snow/Water Ratio: 7.7 Snow Density: 13.0% H2O Temperature: 19.9 F Sky: Snow (1-3 mm flakes) Snow at the stake: 4.5 inches Looks like JSpin's numbers have similar ratios to you Dendrite. I'm not doing a core but I'd bet I'm in the same boat with similar snowfall. Generally seems like 4-5" gets you 0.5-0.65" liquid.

moneypitmike
How shallow is the cold surface layer? If it's really shallow, I guess it's in the cards. But if it's deeper, I would think zr will not be a big factor in the areas currently in the teens-low 20's as those temps would keep things falling as ip. Am I way off base on this? 20.
mahk_webstah
Pounding sleet here. 4.1" new...0.68" from a core. This is dense shiat. I'm glad I stayed up for it to start to actually see snow falling. Growth sucked then and it definitely sucks now. I missed the snow completely but even with undergrowth it must've snowed hard.. this will survive the week and we don't see the ground till March. Pretty heavy sleet here now but some thinning radar returns to the west
