Geos
33° outside, but hardly a trickle from the glacier.
cyclone77
35 today again. Mostly just patches of petrified sleet/dirty snow leftover. Pretty impressive staying power though considering it wasn't deep initially.
Geos
It helped today the dewpoint was much lower than the air temperatures, which hit 34°. Just a couple small trickles of water where the ice meets the pavement. Plenty of snow and ice on rooftops.
Chitown Storm
Still about 4" of snow on the ground from the 2 snow systems after Christmas. Snowing lightly now with another 1" tonight and another 1-3" on Friday before a high of 1° on Sunday. Winter, finally.
TugHillMatt
With the sun coming out (doesn't happen much here in the winter on this side of Lake Michigan), I went outside to work on some more snow and ice cleanup. Holy moly! 1 inch of snow on top of 3 inches of SOLID snow/ice that killed my body trying to break it up. I highly doubt some rain and a temp of 40 will wipe out this rock hard glacier. cyclone77
It'll be a bit chilly for the Vikings playoff game. Good point. Gonna be an interesting game to begin with, but this makes it even more so. Sure wish the new stadium wasn't going to be a dome. Very cold and/or snowy games are fun to watch. I'll never forget when the Bears played the Vikes back when Favre was still playing. The field got all icy during the game. IIRC Favre got knocked out of the game that night. The game was played at the University of Minnesota stadium because the roof on the Meteodome collapsed after the 17" snowstorm at MSP.
Geos
Just a trace of rain so far. It's mainly been virga so far today. Today will be day 17 of snow cover this winter so far. Not all that bad considering the + departures.
Hoosier
40 here. The sleet pack has been tenacious but is gradually fading away.
cyclone77
35 with some fog and light rain today. Took care of the remnant sleet/snow except for piles. Picked up 0.14" so far.
Geos
Sitting with a Trace for rain today. Still have 3" of glacier on the ground. High 37°. Looking like most of the rain and snow will head well west into Iowa.
Chitown Storm
Nice 2" refresher snow overnight. Now the cold sets in. Some of the models have slightly warmer air for the weekend, but still looking at low single digits for a high on Sunday. The GEM has lows of -20F nearby on Sunday night. Hoosier
Down to just patches of sleet here (along with bigger parking lot piles of course). I guess that's what 30 hours of temps in the upper 30s and 40s will do.
cyclone77
Picked up 0.27" of rain today. Had dense fog with temps in the mid to upper 30s most of the day, along with the light rain. As sokolow would say, a pissy light rain and drizzle. Don't really see much snowfall in the future. Maybe we'll finish Dec-Jan under 2". Abysmal for snow lovers to be sure. Thank god for that November system, or this would be a complete abortion of a winter.
daddylonglegs
Horse poop weather pattern...bring the polar vortex. At least the sun comes out. This rain/sleet/snow the last how many days is getting old. We lost a lot of our snowpack...all the snowmobile trails are closed now and i wouldn't dare walk out on any local ice until Sunday or later... looking forward to bone chilling cold... Geos
Very dense fog outside right now. I can see about 100 feet and that's about it. Fog really got going around 2pm here. 0.09" of rain today in total. Still about 2" of crust on the ground.
daddylonglegs
-6.6F... by far the coldest temp so far this winter. Before this morning i think our coldest low was around 10F.
Chitown Storm
Home station recorded a low of -10F last night. Still -5F now with bright blue skies. Vikings game gonna be a beast with wind chills of -25F.

cyclone77
The Viking horn cracked due to the extreme cold. Dang! lol. As a Bears fan that doesn't bother me. Hate the sound of that damn thing lol. That being said I'm rooting for the Vikes today.
harrisale
New snowpack, though modest, coming this week will certainly make it feel more like winter. Could also help bring temps down as a whole for the month.
Geos
Made it down to 10° this morning. Very bright and breezy day today. Hovering around 12-13° right now. Tonight will be the coldest night of the winter so far for sure.
daddylonglegs
Cracked zero...showing just above 1F right now. Interesting thing in that i'm seeing a lot of melting off the roof (south facing)...must be enough shingle exposed to warm up in this sunshine.
