dmc76
Yeah that area has gotten pounded from a band off of Saginaw Bay. I snapped a pic from a web cam in the previous page. Check it out. Never seen a stiff band like that coming off the bay.
roardog
Saginaw Bay freezes so fast that there's hardly ever snow from it.
josh_4184
Wow, pretty impressive les in the thumb area don't see that very often compared to us on the west side. Next weekend looking interesting for some good LES if the cold being advertised blows through.
michsnowfreak
Snow globe at times today. Pure lake Huron fluff. Looks like .7" or so at work. .3 at home I'm told.
Hoosier
Getting some light LES here. Flake size not too good.
Geos
The little snow that fell here was 30:1 ratio. Light flurries continue. You can really make out the river valley's in eastern Iowa and the Rock River Illinois in the snow and sleet pack.

cyclone77
Full sun all day. Was pretty nice to see after the dense overcast all day yesterday. Hit 32, but the half inch of leftover crust remains unscathed.
wxman1952
A rare lake effect event today for this side if the state of Michigan. NE winds coming down Saginaw Bay and Lake Huron gave my county 7-9" of snow. 5 miles away only a dusting. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=562019167279071&set=a.136217049859287.31104.100004129779964&type=3&theater
michsnowfreak
Total snow today 0.3" imby (6.7" season) and 0.5" dtw (8.0" season). Being fluff it has settled so just a trace of dust on the ground. Cold night ahead.
osubrett2
The snow drought for CMH continues. Officially only a trace at the airport. The western suburbs and counties further southwest saw accumulation, but nothing here on the NE side as well. Last measurable snow was 3/23/15 and last event > 1" was 3/1/15. michsnowfreak
DTW down to 12F. Their thermometer has been acting funky lately. I will be watching it in the coming days. After bottoming out in the mid teens they then spike to 22F somewhere between 2-3am then fall back to 12F? Yesterday they spiked to 31F mid-afternoon before falling again. Even YIP didnt spike past 27F mid-afternoon.

Geos
How much otg? Staying steady between 3-4". It's a rock with the little bit of LES from yesterday. Snowpack can probably absorb a good half inch of rain, so might be able to hang onto the snowpack into next week. Found this page to be interesting... it rates how the winter is going in terms of severity. Cheyenne, WY is the #1 spot for the harshest winter right now. http://mrcc.isws.illinois.edu/research/awssi/indexAwssi.jsp#info About 13°, 14° here this morning. IWXwx
Talk about threading the needle! I got in on the weenie band that a couple of the hi-res models scored on. Of course it was only 2" total, but it's a heck of a lot more than many in the sub got.
