ma blizzard
Did we lose the cold tuck too? verbatim (models) , it looks more confined towards SE NH / NE MA .. wouldn't surprise if it extended a little further south into E/C MA though
CT Rain
Huh??? Have you looked at models? Nothing gives CT snow now. It's mostly an ice/ sleet event You'll get sleet. Maybe a little snow. Your prolonged meltdown over this missing your backyard has been sort of pathetic to witness.

You're prolonged meltdown over this missing your backyard has been sort of pathetic to witness. You've been out of the loop for a few days as you said..so I'll attribute your dumbfoundedness that CT isn't getting snow to that effect. Even up to I-90 for that matter. I know you were thinking a few days ago that this was going to be a good hit.so I get you're a bit "taken aback" If you had been in the loop you would have seen from day 1 that I was expecting mostly ice here. You can back 2-3 days and see that was my thinking for us.

There was always a risk that this would trend warmer with the mid level warming and that's what happened. Seems well within the original range of possibilities. When we were talking about it on air before Christmas Eve we were really forecasting a wintry mix to rain. Seems like that's going to happen. Pretty good for a day 5,6, and 7 forecast! SR Airglow
Oh jeez, is there a war starting on this board to?Starting? It's been going on for as long as I've been posting here(over three years now).Looks good for 4-7" or so for up here(near SLK). Should be a good time regardless and decent skiing for a change on Tuesday.
dendrite
True, but you'll lose a small amount of accumulation in the beginning when the snow is working on cooling the ground. If you drop snow on a 35 degree surface it will melt until its 32. Sent from my HTC One Guess what the skin temp is on the first frosty night in September. Damage In Tolland
I don't think Kev is bothered by the Pats. Not sure about Ryan I'm not a Pats fan as most folks know. My football season ended game 2 . I'm glad I never invested in this event.Hopefully the icing occurs. I suspect folks in the I-90 corridor are going to be disappointed tomorrow..but maybe and hopefully it'll over perform for them

TalcottWx
Well for anyone driving any snow anytime is an issue. But the vast majority of folks are off this week..so there won't be too much traffic This just simply isn't true but hey
TalcottWx
It is going to come in like a wall, and visibility will be greatly reduced. Minimizing that is plain dumb. Some of these people must view snow squalls as NBD. I'm not overly impressed to say it'll be a wall type of SWFE. These warm layers aloft might result in some isolated screwages. dendrite
These things come in like a wall sometimes because the leading lighter precip will sublimate aloft thanks to the cold/dry air feeding into the low levels from the high to the NE. Once the low levels saturate we can quickly go from nada to 1/2-1/4SM quickly.

CoastalWx
Considering a week ago it looked like we were getting a torch, it's not a bad thing for a nuisance event to dust off the old winter wx skills. Sure maybe it won't be a WSW in spots, but we take for now.
