This is a different set up with regards to strength of storm and duration of strongest snowfall rates....I believe road crews will have this well under control and have plenty of lead time...the pavement temps mixed with the pretreated brine thrown down will not allow the snow to bind to the roadway.....this is not a 6-12 inch event...advisory event with warm pavement temps

My experience with +SN on roads pre-treated with liquid salt is that it's an incredibly slippery slime-slide.  The snow may not bind to the pavement, but slushoplaning is even worse than hydroplaning.  Two hours after the heavy snow ends, the treatment effect makes the roads just wet, but for those driving when the wall hits, it's slowdown-and -watch-out time, whether on the interstate or any other road getting the brine.

It is a sloppy slush mess when they pre treat, Sodium Chloride only melts to 20°F, Below that temp its useless

RGEM is definitely odd...has like these little convective looking bands of QPF.  Burst of snow and then lots of sleet.

I know some really like the RGEM, But i have found it here to be off on some events for whatever reason, It missed big last Feb here inside 24 hrs

Of course it's harder to accumulate when the ground is warm, at least in light snow and flurries. Simple thermodynamics. I think y'all are ovethinking it. Sent from my HTC One

The skin temp cools off damn fast. It isn't an issue until you have insolation issues in Spring.

it can be hit or miss down here too. It did well on certain events last winter but completely collapsed on a few as well.

True, but you'll lose a small amount of accumulation in the beginning when the snow is working on cooling the ground. If you drop snow on a 35 degree surface it will melt until its 32.
