ClicheVortex2014
Incredible tornado. The hook at the time of hitting Holly Springs was about as nasty as it can get. I see we're up to 14 deaths now unfortunately
SchaumburgStormer
Been out of commission and off the board for about a month now recovering from a surgery, and have another (spinal fusion) just after the first of the year. This may have already been mentioned in the thread, as I havent had a chance to get caught up on a months worth of postings, but a 100 year old church near Oreana/Oakley, IL was damaged severely by straight line winds yesterday morning. http://herald-review.com/news/local/weather-calendar-at-odds-heavy-rain-winds-wreak-havoc-damage/article_c2e553bc-4e74-58c4-8a2e-9694db14f675.html
andyhb
There was meteorologist from N AL (grad student at UAH) who surveyed the area around the Holly Springs Motorsports park that was devastated by the tornado. He said that there were numerous cases of vehicles being lofted >100 m (including a full sized motor home), along with multiple structures (one of which was a steel garage that had its anchor bolts sheared off or bent) swept away and ground scouring. Also, the concrete divider on the drag strip was split in half with the rebar supporting it snapped. Important to realize this barrier is meant to prevent cars traveling at >200 mph from smashing through them, although this is a significantly different type of load than was experienced. There was a racing truck that was thrown and had its roll cage partially crumpled.

ClicheVortex2014
TOG SW of Birmingham, AL... Nasty hook... thankfully the rotation wasn't as strong as one would expect. Rotation looks like EF1 though, maybe low-end EF2 Could get nasty down in Texas tomorrow.
