PhineasC
I am looking for a person to fill a job opening at APG, MD. In this job, you'd be developing and maintaining a software application for the US Army. In a nutshell, this application reads gridded model data (GRIBs) from the Air Force Weather Agency servers and then displays various outputs for the users, including simulated radar on a map and five-day forecasts for various airport codes. It does other things as well but this is the core function. I need someone who understands model data backends and how they work (we use the GFS and WRF for example), and can also develop code in Java and C++. This is not a forecasting position. Anyone here think they are a fit? Is this OK to post on the main weather side?
isohume
What's the pay?
radarman
How about developing on contract, but no maintenance?
smokeybandit
Sounds interesting. Heck of a lot more interesting than dealing with medicare data. The commute to APG? No thanks. If I'm going to stick in gov't contracting, I wish I could do NOAA/NWS/FAA or something that involves weather or airplanes.
