Solak
You can see the progression of the backdoor cold front through NC: http://hint.fm/wind/ It will be nice to get a little break from the high temps/humidity. It's a little more interesting now - watching how the overrunning air mass is pushing the showers/sprinkles back to the North. Also can detect a narrow gust front out in front of the rain shield. NCummingWx93
Not according to RAH 955 AM MON DEC 28 2015.SYNOPSIS...A COLD FRONT WILL DROP SOUTH THROUGH CENTRAL NC TODAYTHEN STALL NEAR THE SC BORDER. THE FRONT WILL RETREAT NORTHWARD AS AWARM FRONT TONIGHT. A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH FROM THE WESTWEDNESDAY. The sfc high is about 1040mb so pretty strong and I know how wedges are sometimes under forecast but the strong southerly flow ahead of it is pretty strong which will limit its progression SWward I assume. Enjoy the wedge in NC. Meanwhile warm humid tropical southerly flow in GA.

Can also see it easily on the vis loop close up from RAH..just now getting to Goldsboro they where at 63 but had NE winds gusting to 25 http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/wfo/rah/flash-vis.html

cbmclean
Just heard from Greg Fishel that RDU is going to obliterate the ~120 year old record for warmest December. Sigh.

J.C.
The dewpoint in Columbia is up to 70 with a temp of 72. Would it be possible to have a low not get below 70 in December?
snowlover91
Nice little temp difference in NC vs SC due to a backdoor cold front moving through and weak wedging. Won't last long but pretty cool to see.
Snowless in Carrollton
1.45" in the rain bucket today. That brings us to around 12" for the month and more on the way.
sparklecity
We're having some incredible wind gusts right now. More wind than we have had from any tstorms this year. Surprised the power hasn't gone out. Already heard one tree pop.

downeastnc
Pretty amazing with the front oscillating around the Charlotte metro right now. Temp is at 51 in Gastonia and 69 at KCLT. We went from 55 at midnight to 68 at 6am, had a few heavy showers with the warm front as well...so now we have a reverse of yesterday morning with the warm front way north in the east and the back door front now more like a typical wedge setup out your way....we are 10-15 warmer here now than RDU and Wilson, yesterday it was the other way around. Looks like you stayed above 70 all night: http://w1.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KCUB.html But you could still be saved with temps dropping below 70 this evening before mid-night.
