Runman292
I invited Nathan Scott (meteorologist in Jackson, MS, but formerly with WJHL in the Tri-Cities) to check out our weather board. He's a young meteorologist and seems to really know his stuff. I hope he checks us out and considers setting up an account. Would be nice to have a professional from the southwest side of the TN Valley region. That's awesome. I hope he joins. I got a question for everyone. Who is your favorite local meteorologist? Mine is David Aldrich. He is extremely good in forecasting winter weather, and he's not one of those local meteorologists that forecasts conservatively 100% of the time. nrgjeff
Yes we need people from the Mid-South to cover the western half of this region. Mid-South and Tennessee Valley can diverge at times, both winter and warm season severe. Hopefully N. Scott signs up. I'm also trying to get a University of Memphis PhD to sign up. Mid-South can have some crazy weather from Mississippi through Memphis into Western Kentucky.

Would be nice to have someone from Memphis, Jackson, and maybe Nashville and Birmingham. Would also make it easier to add weather enthusiasts if discussion was closer to home (sort of speak)

Seems like we have a really good poster from Cottontown, TN. Appreciate it all. Jeff, just looked at that Kansas vs Oklahoma story. Crazy! If you all win in baseball and then take home the natty in basketball...what a calendar sports year!
1234snow
Crazy weather in California. There were 2 tornado warnings close to San Diego just a few minutes ago imbedded in a pretty little stout bow echo.
nrgjeff
Jeff, just looked at that Kansas vs Oklahoma story. Crazy! If you all win in baseball and then take home the natty in basketball...what a calendar sports year! Thank you. Yes it was an amazing game! I stayed up for the whole thing all 3 OTs. Felt like watching Royals extra innings again, lol! Chiefs also in the playoffs this sports year. Anyway Oklahoma played so well, so determined, and with so much class I wish both teams could have won. My heart was pounding out of my chest well past midnight our time. Kansas finally won and I wish I were back at Allen Fieldhouse! Models are acting strange today. Kind of feels like almost losing it in the first 2 OTs. At least California had some weather action. Let's get this Tennessee weather thing back on track, lol!

Carvers Gap
Vikings WC game could have a real feel as low as -20 this weekend per Accuweather link. Not sure I could do that... Those bleachers get darn cold when it is 20. Will be one of the coldest NFL games ever. Just scroll down for a big story on it. http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/nfl-wild-card-weekend-playoffs-seattle-seahawks-and-minnesota-vikings-brutal-cold/54624092#.Vo9TCrqtjE4.mailto
tnweathernut
Well, the 0z Euro control really blasts parts of the midsouth in the long range. Seeing more fantasy solutions now, hard to shovel fantasy though...haha. 5-10 inches across the entire state of TN (and Northwest MS) 2+ inches across the northern 1/3 of MS, AL, and GA

tnweathernut
The 12z gefs is a TN Valley winter lovers dream. The individuals through day 16 show more snow than I can remember seeing them show. John1122
Clown of the potential snow from the 6z this morning. This spans a few clippers and two miller A/B storms. It actually lines up pretty well with the strong Nino of January 1966 when the period from January 10th-31st was very wintry and featured 10-20 inches of snow across a good portion of the Great Valley. Stovepipe
Rem...remember last year when we had 3 different storms to track at the same time and multiple threads and everyone was getting confused on which storm was being discussed and many of us got back to back to back ice and snow? That was awesome.
John1122
Forgot about instant weather's hotlinking. Oh well, I'm sure everyone has seen it. Most of the Valley had 4-12+ inches of snowfall through that GFS run, it may have changed since then though.
