MJO812
Looks like PB will win this round... GFS,GEFS and Euro ensembles show what he has been saying for a while now. It's pretty similiar to what JB said in his video this morning. Winter looks to get going around New Years. Looks like the AO and Nao don't want to help us out moving forward. The EPO and PNA is another story. PNA

PB GFI
Regardless what happens in your backyard on Mon/Tues It`s coming . And although Tues and Wednesday look seasonal . Starting on NY DAY this what you look like at 500 . Compliments of Tolland in NE ... Dan Leonard @DanLeonard_wx 33s 33 seconds ago Don't be fooled by above normal heights east- this is a cold pattern with a monster block over AK. #winteriscoming

wolfsheepsheadbay
The warm posts continue in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Gotta love it. The pattern is now progressing exactly as PBI, Ray, Tom and I have been advertising. Kudos to those way more experienced guys who stuck to their guns. No crying wolf here, as the GFS rushed it a bit 10 or so days ago which was pointed out. The step down around here begins around New Years with better chances for blocking later in Jan. Regardless of what happens, nothing will change the fact that we are witnessing an unprecedented freakish warm streak and it is absolutely disturbing. This is worse than snow in October or April, by a wide margin. I will be glad when it is gone.

This is worse than snow in October or April, by a wide margin. I will be glad when it is gone. It will be forgotten by most once colder weather comes in but it shouldn't ever be forgotten. Like Don said this type of warmth is probably a once in 200/300 year event that we are unlikely to ever see again in our lifetimes. Although somehow we continue to see these once in a lifetime events so regularly now that it's tough to say what will happen. We'll wrap up this crazy stretch with a record breaking Xmas and another super torch on Sunday before finally coming back closer to Earth.
