Brian5671
This is what Upton has IMBY, it seems spot on so far. "Periods of rain. Steady temperature around 40. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible." They basically what they have here to, but it's been dry all morning

It's been raining on and off here all morning. Periods of rain means periods of rain and periods of not raining.

Brian5671
Lawns there still look pretty good. Endless summer? Pretty much-I won't do it, but it could use another cut. It's as green as you'd see it in May, that's for sure. I had the leaves picked up right before thanksgiving-we have a large stand of woods behind the house to our NW so they all blow in during the fall. BDR has .00 and Farmingdale on LI has .01-areas from the city N and W doing ok-interesting too-you are almost 10 degrees colder than here!
IsentropicLift
Bingo! As in, not much today, thanks for proving my point. You're missing the point. Just because it's not raining in your backyard doesn't make it a busted forecast. You're misinterpreting the forecast.

Brian5671
Yes and thats with nightly hard freezes too.. We've had our share of cold here too-one night was down to 19, but it seems to have done little to get the grass to go brown...guess the well above normal warmth (overall) has done the trick

Allsnow
I can deal with a mild and snowless winter, my hope is for one KU event 12+ type storm. I haven't had one in my backyard since 2011. I would take a 2006 type deal lol

Allsnow
you didn't break 12" on v day 2014?We had about a foot here in Edison I believe, the morning event greatly out performed the backside snows. I believe the forecast was for the backside to be the main show. It would be nice to get a CCB overhead dropping some huge amounts this winter. Allsnow
Just checked. I got 13" here in that event. The last two winters have been epic for cold and snow events...I experienced one of my coldest months ever last February. Obviously I think that will be hard to come by this winter, so I hope for a good KU event.

We had two decent events the 1st or 2nd week of December. I think a cutter changed the pattern after that, central nj was in the single digits that morning only to be raining by 8pm
