IsentropicLift
Well good luck You make it sound like it benefits me somehow if you see a lot of rain. Roughly 80% of the time if you're raining, so am I. Just a bit more delayed. I personally don't care how much snow I get as long as it's an active year. dmillz25
People are really rushing for winter to show up. I for one I'm patient and when it finally shows up we'll get get hammered. I wasn't worried last year and I won't worry this year. Patience

Based on stats from past Ninos not all of them were active however given the extent and power of this Nino, I'd be shocked if things ended up relatively quiet. . JerseyWx
Winter is almost done after December. 5 weeks in December 4 weeks in Janaury 4 weeks in February 5 Weeks in March - I remain optimistic that December will produce snow. I feel the opposite is true. That'd be like saying Summer is over in June. Just as we get some of our worst heat waves for July and August, some of our biggest snow storms come in January and February.

Big Jims Videos
Saw many folks in shorts Friday at the speedway. The longer the cold can hold off the less depressed some of us will feel once we can get through the solstice and turn the corner to longer days and sunshine. Can't believe November is gone. Best November in years.

nzucker
Possible swfe pattern towards mid december? If the EPO goes negative with a -PNA, that will set the stage for SWFEs and a gradient pattern, a la Dec 2007. Could be good for New England.

MJO812
The arctic flood gates open up on the GFS starting Dec 13. Most likely way too cold. I still LOL whenever NYC posters want a SWFE pattern. I know it usually benefits SNE but we have seen snow with those patterns.

snywx
I know it usually benefits SNE but we have seen snow with those patterns. SWFEs are usually very good to us here in the HV.. Very rarely do we go over to plain rain. Usually the tail end we either flip to ip or fzdz.

Brian5671
Coming in waves. Have you looked at the radar? Wall of rain approaching from the SW http://radar.weather.gov/radar.php?product=NCR&rid=lwx&loop=yes down by Baltimore? That will be here around 2 or 3 pm which would make a good chunk of the daylight hours rain free-reading Upton's forecast, it had rain all day. IrishRob17
This is what Upton has IMBY, it seems spot on so far. "Periods of rain. Steady temperature around 40. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible."
