hawkeye_wx
Like cyclone, I picked up a few tenths of an inch of snow yesteday morning. That was supposed to be it, but then another weak disturbance dropped 3/4 inch of snow late last evening to boost my daily total to 1.1 inches. My December snowfall total is 5.4 inches and my precip total is 4.43". My season snowfall total to date is 11.6 inches. Waterloo has already had two 10+ inch storms. My 2015 precip total is 47.13, way above average.
Geos
Got a little bit colder last night, down to 23°. Don't think it snowed at all - probably passed to the south. Congrats to those in Ohio that finally got measurable snow! Yeah you can see in my signature how wet it was this year! Average is 36.77".

osubrett2
Had some light freezing rain this morning at 31F/32F. Slight accumulation on elevated surfaces, roads were fine and by time I drove closer to the city, it was above freezing. Still no snow for CMH and no end in sight. I might have jinxed it. Light snow showers have been skipping across the area. Too light to even be picked up on radar. I hope this doesn't accumulate as the first for Columbus. Chinook
Once again, a geomagnetic storm is ongoing. If you have some clear skies in IL/WI/IA, you might want to take a peek to the northern skies, if you can get away from the city lights.

Powerball
Officially, December 2015 will be the warmest on record in Detroit with an average temperature of 41.1 degrees (a 10.8 degree departure). Also, it will be the 6th snowless on record with only 1.3" of snow (0.6" of that being sleet). Only December 1889 (which was a La Nina) was comparable to this month in terms of combined lack of snow and record warmth.
Hoosier
Final numbers for December are going to look bizarre up north in areas that got hit by the snowstorm a few days ago. Take Green Bay...they are +13.3F through the 30th with 13.7" snow this month.

Only December 1889 (which was a La Nina) was comparable to this month in terms of combined lack of snow and record warmth. It actually ties w/ 1931 for the 7th snowless December on record. 2015 finished as the 26th snowiest year on record. In 2014, December finished as the 2nd snowless December on record but 2014 was the 2nd snowiest year on record. I would say the best match to compare this December is 1881. 1889 was literally snowless. 1881, the previous warmest December on record, saw a 2.3" snowfall on New Years Eve along with cold temps the last two days of the month really bring the avg temp down. Incredible that in the same calendar year, we had a month (Feb) that was -14.0F and a month (Dec) that was +11.0F.

Warmth that severe put a real pinch in my plans for areas way north. Anything under +5 would have been fine. +10 sucks.

Jonger
Flint and Saginaw don't go back very far. One thing of note, the 12 year period between 1877 and 1889 had some real stinkers. I'm sure that saved lives back then.
