KokomoWX
The GFS still like snow for Christmas. We are finally getting out of the 300+ hour fantasy range. IWXwx
Would I be an a** to pray for that to 10 inch band to come north? No, but you would be looked at funny for putting any credence whatsoever in a clown map for 12 days out that was posted for pure entertainment purposes. You would be an ass if it was within 48 hours of the event.

IWXwx
In this part of the subforum, temperatures are the big story (along with some possible heavy rain). As I mentioned in an earlier post, the forecast high showed record tying highs for Saturday from SEVEN days out. Pretty remarkable. Right now, the point for FWA is 63°, while the record is 59°. Previous record highs in the Eastern part of the sub look to get destroyed. IND has already broken their record high for the day at 7:30 AM with a 64° reading (previous record 63°-1927) and will most likely crush their previous min max with a 57° (previous record 50°-1873!!). The 6z now takes the low from central IA to the UP with a rainy front for most of us. Maybe some backlash flurries before the next surge of mild air and rainy cutters. <grinch/>

Maybe some backlash flurries before the next surge of mild air and rainy cutters. <grinch/> It could be much worse. In December 2011 and 2014, there were absolutely *NO* storms to track in much of the country. At least now, we have plenty of potential storms to watch out for, even if the potential isn't all that great for ideal outcomes locally.
Chambana
Very dense fog right now. Seems to the the name of the game this month. 1/4 mile visibility or less in areas.

If it's going to be 50 degrees in December, I'd prefer it dry.

weatherbo
Arrowhead of Minnesota looks to be in a hot position. On a positive note, all the snowmobile trails that are gated off in the Summer are open. I've done more 4 wheeling this fall than all of the Summer.
DaveNay
You might have to go riding north of Winnipeg this year. Waaay north...like Yukon Territories. My relatives in Snow Lake MB (8 hours north of Winnipeg) still have minimal snow cover and the lakes and river are still free of ice.

If that daffodils are coming up, what are they going to do in the spring!? I'm sure you'll have to go pretty far north right now for snowmobiling, but I think in a few weeks there should be some good riding conditions further south than north of Winnipeg. Really foggy here with visibility < 500ft. Dreary day with a wind off the water.
Tim from Springfield (IL)
Springfield's record high for this date (64 in 1929) is now history and it's not quite noon--66 right now. Sun is trying to peek out now. Could we pop 70 today if the sun becomes more consistent?
Chambana
64.5 degrees, record of 62 degrees from 1929, has officially been overthrown. Insane warmth right now. Actually noticed some weeds growing lol.

Stebo
We will break the record min for the day of 45, so far the min has been 48 and I don't see us dropping below that. As for the record high, it is 61 and we are currently 58 so even with a full low cloud deck we are still warming so the 61 is in play.
Chinook
Record of 59 in Hillsdale has been SMASHED. Currently 61 and rising. Record high for Toledo is 63. It is currently 64 degrees. Sun still doesn't know what it wants to do, although it looks bright to my south.
Trent
Just hit 70 IMBY. Downtown Cleveland is currently sitting at 70 degrees as well with dewpoints flirting with 60. We'll see if CLE can catch up to BKL, but previous latest 70 degree on record was December 6. I can't believe it's mid December out there, this warmth is just unreal. stormtrackertf
DTW is sitting at 60 degrees, one degree away from tying the record and we may still break it as there are some peeks of sun coming out now. Crazy, I'm getting ready for work and I see people out in their yards raking leaves and stuff with green grass and it's the middle of December. Reminds me of back in 1998 when I was a kid.Tomorrow we should easily obliterate the record of 60.

IWXwx
FWA hit 69° at 2 PM, beating the previous record for the date by 10°. It also tied the second warmest temperature ever in December. 12/2/1982 hit 71° and it also hit 69° on 12/3/1982 and 12/6/1998. The latest that it's ever been this warm by a week.
