Birds~69
Second time in the past 12hrs I've heard a flock of geese quacking/flying....as in heading south. I've seen them in the "V" formation while it was daylight out. Good things are coming...

Absolute Humidity
I saw a few flashes on my drive north this eve. Funny, I saw them heading south on parkway near Toms River. It was just another humid Summer's night with t storms this December.
RedSky
It's not looking good but not time to jump unless Jan 1 the long range looks as bad as it does now Sigh of relief the incredible mild period is over and there are signs that January could be colder than many had suggested, possibly normal to below. Even a hint thrown out there in the MA thread about 78 analogs...but normal snow amounts and I will be happy.
Lady Di
It's almost maddening. I really cannot take too many more dreary warm days with dense fog advisories. 50, overcast, chance of precip this evening 80% Wonderful

Ralph Wiggum
Loving the look of the long range models this AM. Several threats on the horizon after the 7th.
JTA66
I was just outside for a bit, amazing how chilly 47F feels after the December we've had. Any changes to more seasonal/below normal temps is going to be a real shock.
RedSky
You know the pattern is changing when the GFS can actually show fantasy snow in the long range, even that has been absent since the beginning of December. It's also an indication of a slightly improving GFS.
wederwarrior
The dry out feels nice. Seattle like gloom has taken its toll on people. Happy New Years everyone! Here's to 2016 bringing "the big one" or a couple smaller snowstorms...I'll take whatever I can get.

Treckasec
Feels like Christmas morning. Good trends today are making me get really hyped up for this winter...Let's just hope that things go as planned. I guess the models will flip-flop in the future a bit, but it seems like things are going well. Cheers to a new year, and hopefully a new winter-beast that'll bring some snow for us all. stemwinder
Happy New Year! Here's to a couple of decent snow events, and the cold to keep them in place. Soon!
Treckasec
12z GFS not too bad. Track of the storm around 13-14 was more south and left north of SNJ without snow. Also, bonus snowstorm (maybe) developing at the end of the run. Sadly, all of this occurs at 300+ hours The deep cold still sticks around though. Hopefully this winter produces. ChescoWx
Nice night here in NW Chester County PA as we watch the approaching arctic front ...should easily eclipse the lowest temp (26.8 on 12/20) so far this season---I would not be shocked to see a few flakes as far south as here overnight and more likely tomorrow during the PM. What a difference a year makes....prior to 12/31 only 9 daily low temps of below 32 - most likely an all-time record. Since then nothing but sub 32 lows every day and should see most lows sub 32 for most days during the next couple months - not that that is unusual Currently 35.0 here High today was 45.6 AM Low was 27.

Hurricane Agnes
Woke up at about 1:30 am to peep out to see if I could catch any meteor activity (temps were still above freezing in the 34 - 35F range). Saw a few whispy clouds near the horizon but the sky was generally clear and winds calm. Seeing nothing else, fell back asleep and woke again about 3:30 am, checked, and saw that a thick cloud deck had rolled in with some light NW winds. Now as of 6:45 am, temps are down to 28.8F and dropping steadily. Arctic air has arrived!
ChescoWx
Temp has been falling steadily here in NW Chesco since sunrise temp now down to lowest of the season at 26.1. DP also down to 15.3 - that number should sink to near zero later today. High was at midnight at 33.4 - looks like tomorrow will be our first sub 32 day of the season.
