RedSky
Feel like we need to get lucky with something the first week of December or snow for the month will end anemic. No pressure now... Also think the Chicago record snow is an omen of good things to come in Jan-Feb

Morch Madness
Active storm track and seasonal changes expected Yep. No doubt we will see lots of moisture, that STJ will be loaded. Just a matter of how early we can get the pattern to flip in our favor.

dizzy9479
Interesting that PHL hasn't yet made it down to 32 this season. Looks like it is going to break the record for the latest first freeze, which is currently 11/28 back in 2010.

The city site's latest before they moved to the airport was 12/11/1939. Urban heat island continues to expand. Also interesting, DCA hit freezing the other morning, beating PHL. 1981-2010 mean at PHL is 11/6, at DCA its 11/18.
famartin
Also, PHL is the last I-95 megalopolis big-city site to get to 32. Even Central Park made it the other morning. (LGA hasn't but most people look to the park for stats in NYC). BOS, BWI, EWR, PVD, DCA all got there.

We are only 13 miles or so from the airport. Heat island in effect and also lots of warm waters around the airport

JTA66
Yesterday was a great day to put up the Christmas lights. I finished up the yard work last weekend, but if this mild weather continues I might have to drag everything out again for a pre-Christmas mow! Untitled-1 copy.jpg This is very true.... I work 2 miles from the airport and the weather between the airport and Media when we are talking about marginal temps or change over rain to snow can be quite dramatic sometimes too. RedSky
Keeping my eye on the front lawn for a possible mow. Also the forsynthia hedgerow have begun to bloom. Decembers like a mild March are the absolute worst this will be two in a row. March is my least favorite month on the calendar.
