Congrats to all of our Iowa, Northern Illinois, Southern Wisconsin posters, with Southern Michigan getting theirs later. Enjoy a highly unusual November storm and keep the pics coming. It's going to be a nice spread the wealth system for the subforum.

Meanwhile, all of us Ohio, and Central and Southern Indiana and Illinois posters will wave as the storm passes to our north.

Looks like you could get a good burst there tomorrow.

I saw exactly one flake this afternoon. I waved as it passed to the south. Us up north feel your pain. But, a long winter to go.

I measure 4.5 in east central RFD, although admittedly I am no michsnowfreak and not trained in the art of measuring. It was ripping a bit ago, big wet fluffy flakes. No rain, all snow from the onset. Accumulated immediately on grass, started accumulating on pavement after about 1" on grass.

Dang, nice pic!

LOT...

UPDATE

858 PM CST

FOR EVENING UPDATE...

INCREASED SNOW TOTALS TO AROUND A FOOT ACROSS FAR NORTHERN IL.

WINTER STORM WARNING CONTINUES THIS EVENING. HAVE MADE
ADJUSTMENTS TO RAISE SNOW AMOUNTS ALONG/NORTH OF I-90 CORRIDOR
ACROSS NORTHERN IL WHERE PERSISTENT FRONTOGENETIC SNOW BAND HAS
BEEN PRODUCING IMPRESSIVE SNOWFALL INTO THE 2-6" RANGE ALREADY
THIS EVENING. BAND OF MODERATE/LOCALLY HEAVY SNOW WHICH HAS SET UP
ACROSS FAR NORTHERN ILLINOIS SINCE LATE THIS AFTERNOON IS TIED TO
STRONG FRONTOGENESIS IN MID-LEVELS...AND THOUGH HIGH-RES GUIDANCE
HAS CONTINUED TO INDICATE WEAKENING AND NORTHEASTWARD MOVEMENT OF
THIS FORCING...REAL-LIFE ATMOSPHERE HAS BEEN SLOWER TO DO SO.
LATEST RADAR MOSAIC DEPICTS HIGHER REFLECTIVITY FROM JANESVILLE
SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE NORTHWEST/NORTH SUBURBS AND INTO THE NORTH
SIDE OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO AT 0250Z. WEB-CAM VIEWS ACROSS THESE
NORTHERN COUNTIES SHOWS ACCUMULATION OCCURRING QUICKLY...WITH
SPOTTER REPORTS RANGING FROM NEAR A HALF INCH IN THE CITY TO 3-6
FARTHER NORTHWEST. BASED ON THESE OBS...AND GENERAL IDEA OF THIS
BAND HANGING AROUND FOR ANOTHER FEW HOURS BEFORE LARGER SCALE
FORCING PROCESSES TAKE OVER WITH APPROACHING WAVE...HAVE INCREASED
QPF/SNOW AMOUNTS SIGNIFICANTLY ACROSS THE NORTHERN 1/4 OR SO OF
THE CWA GENERALLY ALONG/NORTH OF I-90 CORRIDOR. REMAINDER OF THE
FORECAST APPEARS REASONABLE WITH STRONG SHORT WAVE TROUGH MOVING
THROUGH THE AREA LATE TONIGHT AND SATURDAY WITH A PERIOD OF
MODERATE-HEAVY SNOW GENERALLY NORTH OF I-80 CORRIDOR...THOUGH
QUESTIONS REMAIN WITH POTENTIAL FOR LAKE ENHANCEMENT TO SNOW
AMOUNTS OVER PARTS OF NORTHEAST IL SATURDAY MORNING/MIDDAY. FOR
NOW HAVE MAINTAINED REMAINDER OF PREVIOUS FORECAST...THOUGH WITH
THE HIGHER AMOUNTS FROM THIS EVENING/OVERNIGHT UPPING TOTALS INTO
THE 9-13 INCH RANGE ACROSS FAR NORTHERN IL.

FARTHER SOUTH...PRECIP DEVELOPING INITIALLY AS RAIN OR RAIN/SNOW
MIX BEFORE CHANGING TO SNOW LATER TONIGHT...WITH LOWER SNOW/LIQUID
RATIOS AND LOWER SNOW TOTALS EXPECTED THERE PER PREVIOUS FORECAST.

UPDATED GRID/DIGITAL FORECAST PRODUCTS AVAILABLE...TEXT PRODUCTS
SHORTLY .

Seems like the earlier runs of the RAP were too bullish on southeastward advance of precip.  Things might not really get going here until well after midnight, though upstream radar/obs suggest it could get going sooner.

Jealous of you guys up north, but it had been looking like this fgen band would completely/mostly miss here.
