LAF has been reporting heavy snow for almost 2 hours

Honestly was not expecting much at all, but snow has been falling here since just after 8am..  Actually now sticking on the roads in town. But if you go just a few miles SE of here.. Pretty much nothing at all, except some rain.

I have the same conditions as michsnowfreak right now (as far as slushy snow struggling to stick), but I don't want to put up the white flag just yet with the main round having not yet come through.

Its frustrating, but not unexpected. If not for the white on some rooftops still it would not even have appeared to snow. Its a winter wonderland very close by. But there is no reason to pull the white flag - everythings going as expected so far. this is why we have consistently been progged to have lower totals. the main band should hit us with the same intensity as those areas with higher totals

If anything, we'll have higher intensity snowfall with the main round in our area (as well be closer to the better forcing/moisture), but yeah, certainly not in the overall storm bullseye.

Still should ultimately make a run for 3-6" when it's all said and done.

EDIT: And things aren't that bad here (with snow only remaining on the roofs). Snow has covered the trees and cars, but pavements are still wet and grass tips are still showing.

Still less than 1" of snow though.

Yeah and that 3 to 6 might come in 3 to 4 hours time in total. Models are in high agreement that it is going to be ripping very soon.

Central Lake County is getting blitzed right now. Cars sliding all over the roads and large branches/trees down ALL over the place. Local friends are all without power, but we're still on:

just outside trying to save some trees (losing the battle) gotta be snowing 2+ inches per hour with whiteout conditions
