Scott - there's nothing on the ground at the office in the Loop. I'm in Logan Square (3 miles inland) and the 3" we had in the fronto band yesterday evening is a slushy half inch on grass now. Currently raining. My flight was canceled as I was on the train to ORD - huge gradient in accums across the city.

Hey Andy! Wow, well kind of like we talked about yesterday. Looks like a nice final band in the city now. You gotta get a red tag.

Have a disappointing 6.2" estimate here, with the uncleared snow board and most of the yard under 5.5".  The heavier snow band ended up in northern Iowa and not central like some models (Euro) predicted, although the surface low seems to have tracked plenty far south for us.

I'd say that's pretty great!!

Nearing the 2" mark on the hot tub cover... Grass around 1.5" and the cement starting to glaze over with a slush. Trees are caked with accumulation too since the air is so still. Can't wait for the main event to arrive, just wish it was later in the day when temps would be more supportive of +SN.

I'm surprised your driveway isn't a sloppy, slushy mess. Sure is pretty with every branch coated.

A few sections of the street are. There is 8.7" of accumulation now.

Rates must have slackened off after 2am and/or due to compaction.

About 5" on the driveway.

Rip city for awhile here this morning. Probably around 3 and change on the grass now. Roads are greasy. It's actually kind of fun walking around (working) in this stuff. :D

Good to see you checking in. Congrats on the snow. I'd imagine that's it's not much fun to work in though.

I may actually get 2-3" out of this. IWX expanded their advisory areas to include Huntington County.

Hello all. Looking forward to watching this thing rip this afternoon in northern Indiana. HRRR showing 40dbz for a few hours with 0.5" of QPF in 3 hours. Cross section showing some really strong negative EPV aloft for a few hours this afternoon. Dare I say I will be looking out for thundersnow?  :santa:

Snowing big flakes for a few hours now. It is slushily sticking, but per webcams not as much as just to my west. Wonder if its a bit of influence from the water? Nothing like whats going on in Chicago wrt stark accumulation contrasts, but noticeable nonetheless. The main show is several hours away here, these are just mood flakes.
