Baum
How does next December look? I'm guessing(hoping) that's our next winter threat. Given where we've been I'm ready for an early spring. It's been awhile.

Stebo
suicidebooth.gif Thankfully the ensembles show nothing like that from last night and I'd expect the same from this afternoon's run.

Stebo
we've had a hard time shaking that persistent eastern lakes trough, i don't see any reason to toss itOnly in the short term have we had the eastern trough, we had 2 months of western trough and warmth in the east this winter. I mean we will see but I don't take day 10 op euro maps to have much value.
buckeye
this is the mean snowfall for that time frame. Lots of OV lows predicted as you can see from the snowfall depiction, in fact the CMH screw hole is well defined, probably indicating a nice WTOD. cyclone77
famous last words. Who exactly is controlling the justice system in weather world? I'd like to know so I can submit my bribe, (or blackmail). Haha, yeah you're probably right. I should have kept my mouth shut. Err, I mean my keyboard unplugged. cyclone77
Lol at all of you ready for spring. You know what's going to happen. Monster spread the wealth snowstorm in March. I was actually joking about that at work the other day. Watch us have bookend snowstorms. One in Nov, and one in March/April, with jack squat during the heart of the winter. Brewers
While the pattern for the rest of the month is horrible, at least the trough axis sets up farther east. Western parts of the subforum would likely stay somewhat mild. Heck even the cooler pattern to the east doesn't look that "cold".

cyclone77
Yeah it's gonna be nice. With mid 30s tomorrow and Wed we'll likely be mostly bare by Thursday. Should be able to warm up unimpeded beyond that. You can bet that southwest IA will tag 70 Thursday. I'm hoping we can somehow make 60 on Friday, but anything above 50 is gonna feel awesome after the recent arctic blast. I'll set the over/under for Shenandoah Iowa for 71 on Thursday. Point up to 69 there now.
harrisale
drudgesiren.gif you guys ready for some east coast bombs? OP GFS has had a system around the 24th-25th range the last few runs. Coastal or slightly inland system and thermals look terrible. Pass.

snowstormcanuck
GFS has the storm next week.. Looks identical to yesterday's App runner. GEM has it too. Much more impressive storm aloft than yesterday's storm though. Massive neg tilt longwave trough. I mean...it has March 1993 potential written on it. harrisale
GFS has the storm next week.. Looks identical to yesterday's App runner.
