RitualOfTheTrout
Based on 500, GFS is coming east of 6z I think.

RitualOfTheTrout
I wonder why the GFS shows almost no precipitation on the NW side of the low in the cold sector? Is it that clipper coming down or does the GFS just not develop the storm? Its been showing that for several runs.
Rd9108
We need the CMC to come back further west or else I'm thinking we get fringed to the east slightly.

north pgh
I had a feeling this would happen once everyone was worried about the warm tongue. At this point I would take the warm tongue if I could still cash in on the front or back end of the storm rather than miss it completely east. Rd9108
If the Euro comes in East. I'm out. I don't care if it's 4 days out. We all know the end game at this point.

Cmon boss. 4 days away and u should root it misses us and then for a warmup. Then if we get it ,it will be a nice bonus but if it misses us u be happy, because you reveresed psychologized your mind. Plus with spring comes golf and baseball. So once winter ends I'm not that upset.

RitualOfTheTrout
Seems like we just can't win with this, there is no in between, its either to far east and fringed or to far west and rain. So we have the EURO \ UKMET vs GFS and CMC and neither one is good for us lol
Rd9108
EURO IS a front end thump change to rain and then we get back end snow. I'm sure a lot of this would be sleet or a mix. We have to watch that clipper behind it. That thing could screw this up.

What is the total qpf of the storm vs how much falls as snow?

Rd9108
I hope sampling can change this for the better but as of now it's looking like it's like finding a piece hay in a needle stack for a perfect hit.

Geez, 2.5 - 3in liquid... I'm betting at least 1/3 to half of that falls as rain though or the snow maps would be closer to 2feet.

RitualOfTheTrout
WOW, should be 24 inches of snow... Euro tries to almost phase with the clipper trailing in behind it. This is where I wish we had some METs in our area to comment, but I wonder if that happens a bit sooner if it would allow the storm wrap in more cold air, or if it would just push the track further west. I don't like snow to rain storms, but I mean if we are talking 8-10 inches then rain that is something I could get on board for.
