Yep.  I am expecting 1-2.  I wasnt buying into those high totals. None of the short term models were hinting at anything like that.

I wasn't either. Besides the models, this system just doesn't look very impressive. Scattered activity circulating around the low. Not a lot of juice with it. Not enough for this area anyway as we're on the northern fringe of anything decent.

.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
LATEST RADAR IMAGERY SHOWS AREAL COVERAGE OF LIGHT SNOW EXPANDING. AXIS
OF THE UPPER-LEVEL LOW IS DIGGING IN ACROSS WESTERN
OHIO...DEEPENING A SECONDARY MID-LEVEL CIRCULATION NEAR THE OHIO
RIVER. THE RESULTANT DEFORMATION ZONE GAVE RISE TO A MODERATE
SNOW BAND THAT STRETCHED WEST TO EAST FROM WILMINGTON OH TO NEAR
CLARKSBURG WV. THIS FORCING IS EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY PIVOT AROUND
THE MID-LEVEL LOW...SPREADING LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW ACROSS OUR
SOUTHERN ZONES. THIS SHOULD IMPACT THE REMAINING COMMUTE FOR THE
SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE ADVISED AREAS...WITH LESS OF AN IMPACT
NEAR THE PITTSBURGH METRO.

HI-RES MODELS CONTINUE TO INDICATE A FAIRLY SHARP GRADIENT ALONG
THE NORTHERN EDGE OF THE SNOW TODAY. LATEST HRRR RUN HAS COME MORE
IN LINE WITH THE WRF ARW/NMM...KEEPING THE HEAVIEST SNOW JUST
SOUTH OF PITTSBURGH BUT STILL IMPACTING SOUTHERN ALLEGHENY COUNTY.
HAVE ADJUSTED SNOW AMOUNTS ACCORDINGLY BY TIGHTENING THE GRADIENT
FROM NEAR PITTSBURGH TO NEAR ZANESVILLE. WHILE THIS MEANS A
FURTHER REDUCTION IN THE FORECAST SNOW AMOUNTS ALONG THE NORTHERN
EDGE OF THE ADVISORY COUNTIES...OPTED TO STAND PAT WITH THE
CURRENT HEADLINES.

LOCATIONS SOUTH OF PITTSBURGH AND INTO THE RIDGES SHOULD SEE
SEVERAL HOURS OF LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW THROUGH THE
AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING AS THE LIFT WEAKENS AND DEPARTS. STILL
EXPECTING 4 TO 6 INCHES OF ACCUMULATION FROM NEAR THE MASON-DIXON
LINE AND SOUTH. SNOW SHOWER COVERAGE SHOULD DIMINISH ACROSS THE
LOWLANDS TONIGHT...BUT WILL CONTINUE FOR THE RIDGE COUNTIES AS
THE FLOW TURNS TO THE NORTHWEST AND THE DENDRITIC GROWTH ZONE
DESCENDS UNDER COLD AIR ADVECTION. TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE
THEIR DOWNWARD TREND AS HIGHS WILL REMAIN NEAR OR BELOW FREEZING
TODAY...AND LOWS WILL DROP TO NEAR NORMAL TONIGHT.

Looks like if you were in a good spot for the last storm, you are again for this one.

The Euro parallel looks good for the next threat. Inland runner and 12+. Still almost a week out but good to see some guidance in our favor.

Sounds good.

EC parallel is a big sweeping miller A inland runner tracks along the Gulf coast, then up the eastern seaboard/inland slightly good hit for S MO, HAMMERS Tenn. up through the apps W KY, WV, Extreme E OH, PA, interior NE lighters snow in MO, E KY, C OH, Knoxville-Wheeling-Pitt-Buffalo is your jackpot zone

I have had a nice band sitting over me for the last several hours. One inch of snow and looks nice sticking to everything (trees etc)

On my way to Irwin and then up to Tarentum. Hope the roads stay clear.

Just a coating in Greensburg. Looking at the radar it looks like around Tarentum \ New Ken area has had a nice band hovering there for about an hour now. Curious how much snow has fallen.

An inland track seems to be on the Euro Ensembles too. Would be awesome to see a good ol fashioned Miller A ride up out of the gulf on an inland track.

1994 style. I was too young to remember that storm but from the videos it looks like it was a quick hitting and high rate storm.

I Remember that storm , one of my Favorites,

I remember thinking, these kind of storms were going to be the norm for us given the back to back years were big storms.  But had to wait 16 years to get another 20 incher.  I used to love using The Weather Channel 7 day extended forecast back then and always watching for the Heavy Snow depiction.
