passmaster16
It will be interesting. It seems like this is the toughest part of the event to predict, with all the dynamics in play
Stinkbugspecialist
Going to be interesting to see how much moisture is pushed back our way...we are fairly locked in right now with light to moderate snow, but I just wonder how much the coastal will throw all the way back here? It is interesting that the precip actually looks like it is expanding further north and west right now. Knock on wood ,
blackngoldrules
I'm currently at 5" in Bethel Park. Snowing moderately right now and very windy.
KPITSnow
I'm currently at 5" in Bethel Park. Snowing moderately right now and very windy. I'm probably up to 4 as I was at 3 an hour and a half ago...not going back out. But, it is snowing harder than it has all night here.
Mailman
Gonna go out and do another measurement here shortly. Unsure if I want to sleep or stay up and see how this plays out. Unsure when I will see it snow like this again. May be a while.

passmaster16
Any thoughts on how much longer this will go? Will we see any flow off the coastal?
Rd9108
Any thoughts on how much longer this will go? Will we see any flow off the coastal? looks like the bands are coming more east to west so I think this comes down to now casting.
passmaster16
Agree, seems from the radar it is east to west now and we can only hope that we get a couple strong bands setup that can overpower the dry air and mountains, that's where we usually see things like this fizzle out
Mailman
Just measured 13". Unreal. Was 10" two hours ago. So we're still at 1.5"/hr rates.
north pgh
My son just got back to Pitt-Johnstown from his track meet in Youngstown.. It took them over 4 hours and he said cars are completed covered in the lot at school. They are getting buried.
Digger
NWS had had me here in Beaver County forecast for less than an inch overnight, and less than an inch tomorrow. I wasn't going to bother to put on shoes to go outside and measure, but I'd guesstimate I have 1 1/2" already, and I see they've upped the forecast to 1 to 2 overnight. Edit to add: It's kind of odd to see Allegheny County under a warning, and Beaver not even under an advisory. How often will you ever see that? blackngoldrules
Just took another measurement. I'm up to 6.5" now. I picked up an inch and a half since my last measurement an hour and a half ago. Still snowing moderately and windy. I may not go to bed. This is too much fun. Brings out the kid in me. It looks like any 20-25 dbz rotating back will be difficult. We can hope for some reenhancement of the precip by way of the deform energy.
