Hoosier
Some decent gusts just before the line got here but the line itself is unimpressive in terms of wind. I had much better winds with the area of lighter rain earlier. Really pouring buckets though.

cyclone77
Dews had held in the lower 50s after the rain ended and during the calmer period. Now that the gusty southwest winds have hit (gusting around 30mph) it's dropped quickly back to 45.
Geos
Calmed down a lot now. 0.46" of rain came down.
SchaumburgStormer
Ended up with .64" of rain, plenty to soak in the winterizer I put on the yard a couple days ago.

cyclone77
Across the river in Clinton they just gusted to 60mph at the AWOS.
IllinoisWedges
Winds are dead here. I don't even see the branches moving around.
cyclone77
Man, that deformation zone from northwestern WI down into northern IA is just sick. If that was all snow it would have been pounding all along that zone for many many hours. Radar is estimating 1-2" all along that zone over the last 12hrs. cyclone77
Just utterly howling out there. Gotta be in the 50-55mph range now.
Jackstraw
Man, that deformation zone from northwestern WI down into northern IA is just sick. If that was all snow it would have been pounding all along that zone for many many hours. Radar is estimating 1-2" all along that zone over the last 12hrs. Was admiring that myself. I'm to far East for the storms but the winds are finally picking up some, gusts to maybe 30-35. My play may be in the early morning through tomorrow. I hope this is a sign of things to come through the next 30 days. Maybe we can get some cold air to tickle one of these regardless of the super El Neeeno GFS fantasy has a few more ejecting out of the SW. IWX tends to agree... "ACTIVE PATTERN TO CONTINUE NEXT WEEK WITH SEVERAL STRONG SHORT WAVES EXPECTED TO EJECT OUT OF THE SOUTHWEST CONUS. GENERALLY USED SUPERBLEND INIT WITH FORECAST FOCUS ON THIS FIRST STORM SYSTEM. ECWMF LOOKS A BIT SLOWER TO BRING MOISTURE AND PCPN INTO THE AREA AND GIVEN AMPLIFIED PATTERN SLOWER IS USUALLY BETTER WITH GFS GENERALLY TOO FAST AND MOIST WITH LEAD SHORT WAVES." SchaumburgStormer
Getting some wicked gusts now, house is creaking and moaning. And I hear a constant howl/roar outside. Shame my weather station crapped out, as I won't have any wind data for this event. By the way, looking at a vantage vue system. Good choice? Only bummer is anemometer and rain gauge in the same unit so you sacrifice some rain data quality for better wind gusts with height ( or vice versa ). But its great with live and peak gusts. nwohweather
Kind of reminiscent of the early March 2012 tornado outbreak where places in Kentucky were devastated and then covered with snow on the back end. Granted that outbreak was much much worse but still
IllinoisWedges
Was woken up by a branch/debris slamming into the side of my home. Continuous roar from the wind. 40-50 MPH.
michsnowfreak
Just a breeze right now. Bracing for the gales of November a little later.
geddyweather
Started out slow, but now there is a constant 20-25mph S/SW wind with gusts from 30 to 40mph. Thinking it may pick up a little bit more as the day goes on.
Chicago Storm
Gusted between 50-55mph a few hours ago, and still have gusts of 40-45mph. Looks like another period of higher gusts this morning/early this afternoon.
Chambana
Winds put on the big boy panties around 3-4AM gusting around 50MPH, was roaring outside. I would take a repeat storm in January.

Chitown Storm
1.6" in the rain gauge from last night. Nice soaker before winter sets in. Winds haven't been bad here yet. Occasional gusts over 30 mph, but nothing special.
Geos
Peak wind gust of 41 mph only at UGN today so far. Was expecting at least 50mph!
Gilbertfly
Pretty solid prolonged roar for a system in the first half of november...got a few house creakers early today...and a few more recently.
Geos
Winds may not be quite what was forecasted, but it is enough to knock down whole trees and tree limbs and cut the power. Just saw a 2.5' diameter tree laying across a side road in Racine. More tree limbs near home partially blocking a county road.
