MillvilleWx
32 degrees here this morning in Hagerstown. Definitely chilly but lovely. Wish there was some sun though, but the next 48-60 hours aren't looking so good in that regard.
Eskimo Joe
Could be some ice pellets or a mangled snowflakes west of US-15 between now and 6:00 pm.
heavy_wx
Could be some ice pellets or a mangled snowflakes west of US-15 between now and 6:00 pm. I think that's unlikely as it's too warm aloft for ice nucleation. Just walked outside in the drizzle here with temperatures in the low 30s F. Temps right at freezing here and a pretty good drizzle going on but haven't noted anything freezing surprisingly, and it was a cold one to start the day too. Part of my hunting today was hiking on the very top of the Tussey Mountain ridge during the early afternoon when the drizzle/light rain started and it wasn't freezing (or mixing) at that point...which I'm quite glad for. With that said, can't rule out some scattered spots that end up with some light icing but temperatures should eventually rise just enough late tonight to end the minor zr threat. Other than that, what can I say? The overall pattern looks awful for snow lovers the next week to 10 days at least on our side of the country with no NAO blocking, +AO and a strong Pac jet (+EPO) looking to continue for the duration of that timeframe. Things had looked a bit better when I posted about the pattern over a week ago but it looks like we'll be spending the first portion of December with somewhat above average temps and very brief and transient shots of cold. At least it's early yet, and the western states can certainly use the active storm pattern in the meantime.

sauss06
Think it'll rain today? Canderson, how are your parents doing? Are they in the part of Texas that was getting rocked? Yesterday hunting was raw, it started raining on the farm I hunt up in Perry County around 1130. It never reached their projected high of 45 I'll tell you that. When I pulled out of my driveway at 0430 it was 35, I pulled in at the farm it was 24. It only reached 39 but started to drop when the rain started. At 4 it was 34, I seriously thought they could have ice issues later. Looks like we could be over an 1" of rain over the next 2 days.
canderson
Thanks for asking, they're east of that area. They've had a ton of rain in the past week but are high on a hill so are fine. They haven't had to travel much so avoided any issues.

easternsnowman
AVP's 48.1 for November was good for #2 warmest all time - warmest was 49.0 in 1931. If you look at the data for November from Hawley and Pleasant Mount they were around 5 degrees colder than the airport. AVP is not a good representative of temps for northeast Pa. Voyager
i'll have to mow my lawn one more time i think I was looking at ours, and believe I will have to as well. I was just noticing yesterday, too, that most lawns in the area are still quite green. It almost looks like early April when the grass has greened up, but the shrubs and trees are still winter bare.
