EastCoast NPZ
58F. Good to see the overnight low matches the average high for the date.
WxUSAF
Never got below 63. Pouring leaves. Leaves are just raining down. Seems like a really early leaf drop. Could be generally bare by November 15-20 except for some of the holdouts like pin oaks and bradford pears.

snowfan
And yeah, leaf drop came quick this year. I'm sure the dry period had something to do with it, but I don't think it was a huge negative on color. I think color was the best we had in recent years. Sure, there were some spots that didn't hit great color, but if you had/have maples and scarlet oaks around you probably saw some nice color. mattie g
Feels like our maple went from nothing to peak to completely down in an extremely short period this year. My neighbors have probably the most beautiful maple in the neighborhood - the combination of color and perfect location to take in late-day sun make it a spectacle for a week or two every fall. This year, it went from a little color to nearly bare in less than a week. Strange and a little disappointing.
WxUSAF
Feels like our maple went from nothing to peak to completely down in an extremely short period this year. Our silver maple has done that. Less than a week and it's nearly bare.

WxUSAF
60" in 13-14 and 90" in 09-10. So, 75" seems like a reasonable compromise.

I have 3 red maples that will do that. Just this year, total green until about this time last week, full color now, probably gone by Sunday. You add the totals, not average them. Looks like you can expect 150" this year. Hope you've got your shovel oiled.
