TalcottWx
Thats a shockingly impressive line of convection for late october at night.. in lwx territory west of the capital. Straight line reports coming tonight me thinks.

TalcottWx
I realized earlier I might have sounded like I was exaggerating the cells near lwx. Just noting that any convective elements with this wind just above the surface post a solid wind threat.

TalcottWx
Wow the 4k nam pumps the LLJ big time in in the AM commute rather than offshore. If that happens there could be some solid gusts in the AM along with driving rain.

moneypitmike
My totals are screwed---no doubt to leaves. Through the downpour that's going through now, it's not picking up anything. It also shows no rain after 1:07a.m.. Bummer.
Damage In Tolland
Holy crap what an acorn pelting, cleaned the back deck off at 9 pm. This part of the deck is a good 30 feet from any branch. Damn things are just pounding off the roof. What in the sam hell is that? A Christmas tree shaped rug on the deck?

CapturedNature
1.47. Rains over. Deep deep summer out there. Sweaty run . Winds still gusting 25-30 Looks like 1.52" here. If winds are gusting to 25-30 on your station at ground level, they must be unreal at tree level. Fairly calm here, save for some nice breezes every once and a while. CapturedNature
Here's a map of current wind gusts over 25mph in SNE....looks like things are winding down (pardon the pun). The majority of stations are under that in SNE.

weathafella
A few limbs here and there. It was a bit hairy walking the dog last night but it calmed down by 6:15 this morning. Thankfully nothing on our property beyond the usual cleanup which I cede to the pros we hire.

SnowMan
Hope you Wind Warriors out there were pleased with this storm. I was promised trees would be stripped of all their leaves...yet I wake up to find that it's almost as if the trees have more leaves on them. Good rain storm, but the wind was meh.
