CapturedNature
I didn't see a thread for our current storm and despite it not being a huge deal, it is the first meso rain event that we've for a while so I thought I would start a thread for it. Have at it....

powderfreak
Quarter inch of rain so far, riveting calm winds down here in town, while the summit 3,500ft overhead is 44G57 right now at 32F. Just a crappy November day. I hate that we are at the time of year when you need lights on in the house all day long because its so dark outside. CoastalWx
Looks like two LLJs happen. One ahead of WF and then a SSW LLJ pre dawn that may need to be watched as warmer air moves in.

powderfreak
Is that bright banding up in extreme northern new Hampshire? Mt. Washington dropped down to 22 on a SE wind which I find super impressive Yeah there's been bright banding on the higher angle scans of BTV's radar all afternoon. Just based on its location from the radar site, I'd imagine snow levels are 6,000-7,000ft? I see MWN went from -SN to -ZR so it must be mild way up there somewhere. Yeah it's dead calm here in the low elevation on the east slope. But I was thinking if any of those summit winds are mixing down on the west slope, someone will have an exciting evening. CoastalWx
What's the exact reason why downslope areas in a WAA scheme mix out so well? It's not katabatic. Only thing I can think of, is the LLJ squeezed just under the inversion height near the slopes and forced down.

I wonder if a router could develop in a high a llws environment imparting momentum downstream. Like u said there wouldn't be katabatic forcing.
