Jonathan
Just a random thing I'm looking into. Does anyone know of any fancy/enhanced/HD (whatever you want to call it) weather graphics/maps that are available to the public, even for a fee? I'm talking a blank, detailed map (with counties, cities, etc) where you can overlay it with models, temperatures, current conditions, Level 3 radar, etc. Today I stumbled upon a program by the name of AllisonHouse that advertises something of the sort, but I really want something super professional. For example, if anyone follows Brad Panovich on Facebook, I REALLY love his maps. I would think those are special, in-house type graphics from his WCNC-TV station, but is there anything like that one could get online for personal use? Even those maps from BAMchase.net posted in the winter disco thread are awesome. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, guys! bdgwx
AllisonHouse isn't a program. It is a data service provider. The program you are probably referring to is GREarth which can overlay observations, radar, and model data onto a map of the globe. I briefly looked at that Facebook page. It looks like he is using a combination of commercial weather visualization software designed for the media, GREarth (and the other Gibson Ridge products), and charts from Weather Bell. Thanks so much for your reply! So, if I download GREarth, it looks like I'll purchase a data feed from AllisonHouse that will be used to overlay the data onto the graphics? I'm very new to this. I just want nicer, more detailed, easier-to-read maps and graphics on my own local wx hobbyist Facebook page.

GREarth I believe is 250$ and then you can purchase a data feed from AH for 10-20$ a month. I used to have it and was fairly pleased by it. You can get just as good graphics, placefiles, etc with Grlevel3 or Gr2AE

Right now it's $15/month. AllisonHouse also offers level III and level II radar data as well. GREarth uses the MRMS radar feed.
