NYC had close to 10 inches that month, we ended up plowing snow two times during the month 2013 had a nice mid month snow to ice storm. Had some of the thickest ice on top of snow we've seen in awhile here. Temps were brutal at the start of the storm, was in the upper teens here while Philly was close to freezing-big gradient. SnoSki14
Wow just saw your post away. You think DEC @ KNYC is plus 9.5 ? All signs point to very mild weather. I think many are underestimating just how mild December will be. A lot of those positives will be due to very high minimums given the likelihood of a warm/wet weather pattern, but they'll probably be a few days with highs at or above 60 degrees. I have been AN in December since Sept so this was an easy forecast from a distance .I was plus 2 but if we ended up plus 4 or so I would not be shocked . There is nothing in the guidance that comes close to a plus 9.
