I mixed up my years, the correct year was December 2013. NYC had close to 10 inches that month, we ended up plowing snow two times during the month

2013 had a nice mid month snow to ice storm.  Had some of the thickest ice on top of snow we've seen in awhile here.   Temps were brutal at the start of the storm, was in the upper teens here while Philly was close to freezing-big gradient.

Wow just saw your post away. You think DEC @ KNYC is plus 9.5 ?

the average December temperature since 1980 is around 38.1...I think December 2015 will end up averaging 43.5 or above...The record is 44.1 set in 2001...The absence of temperatures in the teens recently is alarming to say the least...The last time NYC saw single digits in December was 1987...

I think November ends up averaging 52.7 tying 2001 as the warmest ever...

Yeah ,that was the average for November along with the #1 warmest September.

For the fall I get very close to the warmest at 61.73 vs 61.83 in 1931.

A extremely impressive run of warmth after the 3rd coldest February on record.

2nd warmest May

3rd warmest August

#1 warmest September

#1 warmest tie November

How was the heat distributed in 1931? Did they have any heatwaves in September to bring their fall average so high? This year is exceptional with regards to it's consistently above normal temperatures.

Cooler September and November in 1931 but warmer October.

Wow just saw your post away. You think DEC @ KNYC is plus 9.5 ?

All signs point to very mild weather. I think many are underestimating just how mild December will be.

A lot of those positives will be due to very high minimums given the likelihood of a warm/wet weather pattern, but they'll probably be a few days with highs at or above 60 degrees.

9.5 is a big anomaly . I have been AN in December since Sept so this was an easy forecast from a distance .

I was plus 2 but if we ended up plus 4 or so I would not be shocked . There is nothing in the guidance that comes close to a plus 9.5
