PB GFI
Get used to that set up as we get deeper into winter. -EPO /+PNA will force your storm track to the east and not west of the apps. Too early for anything that comes along now for the coast , but then again heading was 'this is banter "

Rtd208
Storm? Probably not, first flakes and maybe a trace or so? Isn't out of the question for this time frame While certainly not expecting a snowstorm for the city and the coast I could see their first flakes possible as well but not much more then that at least at this juncture. Rittenhouse
This is a no brainier, first days of December, +NAO, +AO, no 50/50 low to create confluence, no blocking/banana arctic high in eastern Canada to funnel cold air/CAD down the coast. Just a +PNA and -EPO isn't enough for an I-95 snowstorm that early in the year Yes, because weather in the Northeast is so predictable. All you need is a few teleconnection forecasts and it's a no brainer.

Bone dry out there, and with the wind, man it feels winter like. Tonight should drop real quick IMO.

UnionWeatherWx
Forty is right sadly. No cold air supply for the storm. Most likely will be a NNE paste job. Easy call, 95 percent chance of rain for coastal areas December 1st.

LongBeachSurfFreak
I would want to be 2k plus. Marginal airmass is the name of the game right now. And forget about right at the coast as water temps are way above normal. this is definitely a winter where you want to be inland and high up. At least during the first half

UnionWeatherWx
Ehh too early to say right now. Yes, I agree its to early as many things can change considering we are a good 200 hours out. However, the chances of a rainstorm is twice as likely as a decent snowstorm.
dmillz25
There's a high pressure sitting in SE Canada when that storm occurs wouldn't that help generate cold air?

Once again, things could change this far out.

dWave
39 here now. I think right around 32 in the Park. More like 34 at LGA. Ive seen this kind of scenario in NYC before where temp drop fast then stop at 1130 and stay steady all night. Need wind to blow away some of the UHI effect. nzucker
Park should get a freeze tonight. Very low dewpoints and continuing wind will help their cause. It's ironic that the freeze warning excludes Staten Island, as they radiate better than much of the City with the rural and suburban landscape there. I think many areas of Staten Island will easily get below freezing (despite not having a freeze warning) while LGA will probably stay above freezing (despite having a freeze warning). Western Queens and much of Downtown Brooklyn is typically warmer than Staten Island on clear nights.
