CoastalWx
yea close though , one of those catpaws situations for Phil? Well here too, but I think he would have a better shot Monday with deeper cold air. However, low may be too far to the east. Anyways, nothing too exciting IMO at the moment. Ginx snewx
Yeah..that one eyed pig just stuck there in't exactly a good look Not even going to try to explain cuz we never have cold with that look? its a snap shot of one hour in a progression of others, if I post the 850 deviation you would say something else. CoastalWx
I mean at that moment it's cold here, but I think Canada is kind of ugly with a +NAO.

Damage In Tolland
He can't see AK, what would he think about how awful its is I'd say Western and Central Canada are becoming flooded with pacific air..and would eradicate the cold pattern over North America
Ginx snewx
Kevs pig heads SW towards the Aleuts too, its not "stuck" anywhere.
Ginx snewx
I'd say Western and Central Canada are becoming flooded with pacific air..and would eradicate the cold pattern over North America unless of course the cold source comes over Eastern Canada , did you sleep through last winter
Ginx snewx
Follow the streamlines, and Central Canada is not flooded with pac air at 240, up down pattern it seems

Damage In Tolland
I could be totally wrong..but that does not look like a cold pattern to me. Looks like a good cold shot, that lifts up and out and is replaced by zonal flow

powderfreak
IDK PF I'd be happy if I was you with that, snowmaking city, but yea frigidaireYeah that's a nice snapshot but you can tell that looks short-lived with higher heights building in Canada north of the Lakes. Good snowmaking for 24-36 hours though. We joke about Frigidaire, but you really can find any positive for some cold in any given pattern, and props for that. CoastalWx
The only thing semi-interesting is that it looks like there may be some split flow. If you can get the timing right, it's one of those things where the interior could make out despite marginal air.

Ginx snewx
Euro ens are straight zonal from day 12-15, now thats HB's boring, but before that its pretty interesting and we are set up for something more interesting. The period outlined end of the month beginning of Dec is to be watched for sure. Also the take from the very LR Ens is perhaps a PV split. something else to watch as the end of Dec could very well mark the start of what likely will be a fun period to be a weather enthusiast. Seems to be evolving as most LR forecasters thought, good job by them.
