I've seen it happen a few times and when it does, it reforms in the piedmont. Good luck to all you guys, keep me posted on OBS I will be chasing in Avery County tomorrow got some in-laws in Newland. Do you think Sam's Gap will be passable tomorrow? Especially tomorrow evening? I think the trip going across tomorrow morning will be okay because of the timing of the system. I'm just a little worried about tomorrow evening when the upslope should be in full effect. Do they treat the roads pretty well up there? Unless it's just pounding you should be fine. Sam's Gap got it's notorious reputation when it was a single lane road. Now that the interstate crosses it, not so much anymore. They take very good care of it during storms. For us gsp almost always waits to the last moment on the upslope events before putting out anything solid because of the uncertainty of the flow and moisture feed. Good job I'd say to them.
