calculus1
Congratulations to the Asheville area peeps. It's nice that you're getting such a good snow when the French Broad Valley typically underwhelms in the snowfall department. Nice pics, Strong! I have somewhere between 2.5 and 3 inches of snowfall/sleet here at my house. It's been very spotty for the last couple of hours. Hoping the forcing will increase soon, but it's looking like we will not make our forecasted totals of 8+ inches at this point. There will have to be some very heavy bands to turn this around. But, it's snow. And for that, I am thankful.
Hvward
Been snowing off and on here and man is it windy. I feel like its cut down on my totals a bit but we have around 6". Looking for that deformation band and nwf to push me close to 1'.
PisgahNCWeather
Yea...we are off Warren Creek Road. Probably closing in on 9" now. Just pouring snow. Standhill Mtn at the top so you are maybe a little over a mile away. Thanks for your updates as I usually just read the comments.

FlatLander48
Northern mtn counties will not get close to projected snowfall. No way even with the NW flow. Moisture is eroding before it gets to us.
WxBlue
We're unofficially up to 6.5-7" on campus. Snow board measurement at 1 pm (it was 3.75 inches between 1 am and 7 am).

franklin NCwx
Just font think it's gonna workout for me here on this one. After a lull the precip has picked up but it's mostly rain, we have been mixing since around 7 after getting about 3 inches. It almost never works out to have the cold come from the NE this far west. Hopefully we can get a true miller a and not have to worry about mixing.

MikeGold
HRRR has the remnant low sitting directly over my mountain top for several hours this evening. Not exactly sure what that might do for the local weather. Meantime, waves of heavy snow showers keep slamming into the Plotts. http://www.pivotalweather.com/model.php?m=HRRR&p=cmprefptype&rh=2016012215&fh=loop&r=rv&dpdt=
