wolfie09
A WNW wind usually goes right down the Mohawk valley, 280-290 flow..Here's a good reference..I think Syracuse needs a 300-310..

phoenixny
Need to venture out but am guessing Phoenix has 8" or so and snowing heavily. I agree, band looks like it's slowly pushing south.
CNY_WX
Coming down at a very heavy rate here in Brewerton. I stuck a yardstick in the snow on the deck, which is not extremely accurate, and it's measuring about 9 inches so far. We're probably getting a couple of inches an hour right now. ayuud11
I'll go with 2-4" as the band intensifies and heads north toward the city around the evening time and another 2-4" as it heads southwards from the Northern burbs after midnight. AppsRunner
Tug Hill will produce as always, but I never quite understood the need for 24-30" for SW Oswego Co... 12-18" seemed like the best total snowfall although I bet there's probably going to be slightly higher totals here and there. lakeeffectkid383
That band means business looking at the thruway cams. Hopefully it's a very very slow lift northward and sits over the city and burbs all night
CNY_WX
It's snowing heavily here again. A Georgian Bay connection has been re-established. Now it's a question of how fast the band moves north. It's coming down at at least an inch an hour.

Hopefully it's a very very slow lift northward and sits over the city and burbs all night I'll trade you a "band stall" near the airport tonight for the 12Z GFS 114 hour to verify. 959 mb beast east of Cape Cod. Just eye candy, but shows the potential if one of the southern streams can ever meet up with the northern branch.

lakeeffectkid383
Judging by thruway cam the thruway is shut down at least between Hamburg and Angola. At Angola/Eden there's an ambulance that is barely visible parked sideways blocking all traffic and the traffic at Hamburg is at a standstill, with no cars at all on the blasdell exit. Looks like a pretty bad situation going on in the Buffalo Souhtowns, hope people don't land up getting trapped.. ayuud11
FWIW the 18z Sub-hourly HRRR model has the band in the immediate metro area from 5:15PM to 9:45PM before lifting it northward toward the Tonawanda's..
ayuud11
Just look at the way the band is trying to orient itself toward the metro area, this thing is not going anywhere anytime soon... It's actually intensifying too with 3"/hr rates at its core.
SouthBuffaloSteve
Just left work in Orchard Park the snow is pouring down hard. At least 3 inches per hour. Really big fluffy flakes. Roads are like a sheet of glass. Stayed heavy halfway thru West Seneca and just flurries here in South Buffalo.
