AN INTERRUPTION IN INTENSITY MAY OCCUR AROUND MID MORNING...BEFORE
THE BAND REINVIGORATES EARLY AFTERNOON WHILE SHIFTING GRADUALLY
NORTH AND CATCHING A LONGER FETCH DOWN THE LENGTH OF LAKE ONTARIO.
THUS FAR...A TOO-FAR-SOUTHWARD BIAS HAS BEEN DEPICTED BY ARW NMM
HRRR AND RUC MODELS...WHICH HAS BEEN OBSERVED TO BE COMMON WITH
LAKE ONTARIO LAKE EFFECT EVENTS IN THE PAST. I HAVE CONTINUED TO
LEAN ON THE CANADIAN AND TO A LESSER DEGREE THE NAM FOR
EXPECTATIONS OF BAND PLACEMENT. THAT BEING SAID...THERE IS SOME
SORT OF SMALL MCV/VORTICITY FEATURE THAT WAS OBSERVED CROSSING
LAKE HURON TO THE ONTARIO PENINSULA...AND NOW GETTING INTO FAR
WESTERN LAKE ONTARIO. I SUSPECT THIS IS WHAT MAY CAUSE THE LAKE
EFFECT TO LOSE A LITTLE ORGANIZATION LATER THIS MORNING...WHICH
THE LATEST 06Z NAM ALSO SEEMS TO BE LATCHING ON.

That band means business looking at the thruway cams. Hopefully it's a very very slow lift northward and sits over the city and burbs all night

I'll trade you a "band stall" near the airport tonight for the 12Z GFS 114 hour to verify.  959 mb beast east of Cape Cod.  Just eye candy, but shows the potential if one of the southern streams can ever meet up with the northern branch.

Judging by thruway cam the thruway is shut down at least between Hamburg and Angola. At Angola/Eden there's an ambulance that is barely visible parked sideways blocking all traffic and the traffic at Hamburg is at a standstill, with no cars at all on the blasdell exit. Looks like a pretty bad situation going on in the Buffalo Souhtowns, hope people don't land up getting trapped..

Edit to add:

Whiteout on both cameras now

Just on the fringe here on the north side of orchard park. Looks like the band should start drifting northward soon. Don't see any thruway closing listed...
