WNash
Some thundersnow up here at work in Amherst about 15 minutes ago. Whiteout. Nice. Seems to be coming down pretty good back at home in NE Buffalo as well, judging from our ip cameras.
WNash
As jealous as I am of southtowners, I can't complain about living where I live. I lived in Boston and NYC through some huge storms - 1993, 1996, 2003, 2006 - and what we're getting now was what they had at the peak of those storms. And we get this at least a few times a year, even in relatively less snowy parts of the Buffalo Metro.
SouthBuffaloSteve
Picked up a quick half inch in about 15 minutes here. Winds are really howling now. My hunt for thunder snow however turned up... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

LakeEffectKing
Both lakes will pour snow tonight though Thursday....parameters are extreme....upper lake connections aplenty....4-6"/hr. type stuff....and my house in Liverpool (north suburb of Syr.) should do nicely! Ride into work tomorrow won't be fun....I think areas near Hannibal in SW Oswego Co. may exceed 2' by tomorrow night....Ski Country off Erie will be close to 2' max totals....Tug will cash in even without a "band" just due to orographic lifting...1.5' before the band moves north tomorrow...another foot afterward....FINALLY!!! SouthBuffaloSteve
Is that the new main band pushing on shore? This thing better not setup that far south Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

rochesterdave
If I were Mike Sidel with the weather channel, I'd be filming in Hannibal. I used to drive from Rochester to Oswego for school, Hannibal always was the sweet spot. Good luck revracer! SouthBuffaloSteve
Another LES has formed and is heading right toward the northtowns, it should be fun evening commute.. Only looks like it will graze the metro... It's not going to have a chance to really align before those winds just blow it back on shore... Revracer800
Fairly weak squall line so far. Was expecting more wind.

Revracer800
Well that was pretty uneventful, squall line moved through with no wind and maybe 1/2" of white gold.
rochesterdave
I like the position of cutter on satellite. Looks to be just west of Toronto and headed SE. Back side thump Ontario south shore a possibility. Unfortunately, this low will rapidly push Erie snows well south into ski country for my buff brethren. I think round 2 will be a bit disappointing for all but extreme southern Erie.
tim123
Should be a interesting night for roc up to lake shore. Winds to 50. I am on east side too in western wayne.
OSUmetstud
If you're in BUF, tomorrow afternoon/evening through Thursday is the time to do well. Long duration wsw flow, lots of moisture, waa, instability isn't great, though. Thinking one of those long duration 1-2"/hr. type deals. Could be over a foot for BUF proper, though.
