BuffaloWeather
Very little shear, delta ts -14 to -18 with great moisture with 2 clippers aiding in generating lift. Could see thundersnow tomorrow with passive of arctic front/enhanced LES. I really like the Weds afternoon-Thurs evening timeframe for Buffalo/southtowns. SouthBuffaloSteve
6 inches of fresh powder on the board here in South Buffalo. Not bad for only a 2-3 hour band residence time. With the fluff of this stuff those 35-40 gusts tomorrow are gonna whip up some good whiteouts. Looking upstream at the next system it looks like it's picking up some good moisture north of Cleveland over the lake and already starting to ramp up. rochesterdave
A couple of the meso models have me interested for Rochester. Unfortunately, synoptic weekend storm looks to be more of the same. Western cutter. Once a mold is cast!!!
tim123
Already a coating here in wayne county. I swear the nws in buffalo hates issuing any headlines for rochester. Its kinda sad.
rochesterdave
Rochester just doesn't do well with pure LES. We typically need a N or NE wind usually associated with a LP somewhere from Pittsburgh to Albany. Clippers that float by North of Lake Ontario almost never do anything, we actually getdownsloped. The further south that clipper goes, the better Rochesters chances at a quick back side thump.
tim123
Roc actually gets its best lake snow with a wnw wind
champy
Looks like the main band in CNY will probably do its usual setup right over Hancock airport. To be honest I'd be surprised if the western/southern suburbs of the Syracuse area got much from this flow. Couple that with the system this weekend looking warm and it might be a while before I crack 5" of snow for the whole year down in the eastern FL basin.
