buckeye
Lots of Ohioans here, many in close proximity to one another. Would be cool to finally meet each other... ideas? places? dates?
OHweather
I'd definitely be interested in a get together. I work every other weekend during the semester so would prefer a weekend I'm not working as it'd probably be a bit of a drive for me wherever we meet. I guess a good question is since there's two main concentrations of posters...one fairly close to Cleveland and one fairly close to Columbus...with a few others near Dayton/Cincinnati...is if posters from all regions would be interested in getting together? That would affect where we did it. If people from NE OH and SW OH are interested then somewhere near Columbus would probably be best.
pondo1000
Yeah, i say we regionalize it. As 4 me, I'd drive within 1/2 hr to 45 mins of columbus to meet. Sun evenings work best 4 me, but can make almost any night work except Wednesdays.

dayton1996
Sounds like fun. You guys don't know me, but I love snow so much, we will become friends for life :-) Would be great to meet you guys, especially Buckeye!
buckeye
maybe a good way to get this rolling is for everyone interested to give their distance and direction from a set benchmark, (downtown Columbus). Once all interested have weighed in with this info, we can narrow down a meeting place that makes the most sense for everyone. I'm about 13 miles northeast of downtown as the crow flies. iluvsnow
Dayton 1996 and I are within a mile of each other and about 70 miles Southwest of downtown Columbus.

OHweather
If we have it before mid December or after mid January I'll be in Athens most likely...which is idk maybe 80 miles as the crow flies SE of Columbus? Maybe a bit more
buckeye
Here are some Ohio posters that haven't posted here in awhile...mostly because they are winter fans and haven't come out of hibernation yet. I thought I might send them a link to this thread via pm. If I missed anyone....which I'm sure I have....send them a pm - JayPSU - jbcmh81 - dilly - snowlover2 - vespasian - wxdudemike - coachLB - HighTechEE
vespasian70
I'm only 20 min east of the Westerville area, so a meet and greet in or near Columbus/Westerville is not an issue. I work four 10 hr days a week, so THAT will be the main issue personally. Having the meet-up on one of my 3 off days will determine whether I can attend or not. That being said, I think this is a great idea.

buckeye
looks like several seem ok with the idea of coming to the Columbus area. I realize that's close for me, but honestly I'd be willing to travel to wherever. CMH does appear to make sense since we have posters in western, eastern, northern....and even southeastern OH, (if OHweather is coming from OU). Thoughts on making it CMH? Once we agree on the city, we can throw out specific meeting places, dates...etc.

wxdudemike
Thanks for the PM, I totally forgot to reply LOL I do still travel to CMH occasionally to see friends and even for a few weather shifts at work. My current 3rd shift schedule makes things kinda hard to plan, so I'll see when you guys pick and try to make it if I can!
JasonOH
I would be in but i'm a little far away to do it any time other than early January, when ill be home for winter break. Don't worry, ill still be joining for the snow forecasting since we won't be getting too much down this way. I can't wait to bring the inner snow weenie back out. I think this will happen later rather than sooner anyways. Next step is probably putting together a poll of best time frames. When I have more time I'll do that.
