weatherCCB
Have to retract my earlier statment of no frost. After walking around a bit longer, I saw several windshields with frost on them. Up to 41 now .
mitchnick
35F here. Patchy frost on the lawn.33 at BWI. Probably a couple of degrees colder than your back yard just a half mile north of you.
GramaxRefugee
31 for my low, most neighborhood roofs plenty frosty. Surprising that we would get so low here in the swamps while some west of I-95 stayed above freezing.
high risk
HRRR brings some showers through the area from NNW to SSE this afternoon. Looking at the IAD sounding, would not be shocked to hear a few reports of graupel in the area.

NinjaWarrior2
Yeah someone could be suprised today in Northern MD I feel, also winds always over perform in these situations it seems. Yesterday and Today have been days where it goes from Cloudy to Mostly Sunny and back.

Fozz
Just had a light rain shower with possibly some graupel pellets mixed with it. The real snow will have to wait though. Just not cold enough.

T. August
Baltimore area folks, y'all seeing any frozen? It sure looked like snow in the air about 10k feet up just west of me. But with temps around 50F, there's now way it'll make it down.
AvantHiatus
That was bizarre, just had a graupel sunshower.
smokeybandit
"Graupel Sunshower" I think I'll put that on my "if I ever had a band, I'd name it..." list.
WVclimo
Gusty shower with graupel just rolled through here. Winds gusted above 30 mph. 49 degrees, after a low of 30.

PrinceFrederickWx
36 for the low this morning with some light frost mostly on roofs of houses. Flowers and bushes were unaffected and are actually doing better than all summer-if they can make it through tonight I think I'm good to go for awhile. WxUSAF
33 at BWI. Probably a couple of degrees colder than your back yard just a half mile north of you. I didn't move THAT far south! HRRR brings some showers through the area from NNW to SSE this afternoon. Looking at the IAD sounding, would not be shocked to hear a few reports of graupel in the area. It sure looked like snow in the air about 10k feet up just west of me. But with temps around 50F, there's now way it'll make it down. We went for a chilly walk on the Trolley Line Trail in Ellicott City/Oella and had a light rainshower with a few pellets mixed in. Not sure what the temp was, but probably upper 40s to near 50. T. August
Straight rain It did however drop the temp an incredible amount. Dropped 5F in 10 minutes and is now 46F. EDIT: 45.2F

The holly I planted in June did nothing all summer, then suddenly started growing a week or two ago. That new growth may be toast by tomorrow morning. I know, I was just bustin' ur chops. I love Ellicott City in the fall. In college, we hiked one fall along the River from the State Park at Route 40 right into Ellicott City. Very picturesque. CAPE
Got a shot of that strong cell to my east over central DE that produced graupel and had gusts up to 40 mph.

That new growth may be toast by tomorrow morning. I have two hollys that did the same thing this year- struggled all summer and are growing now. A lot of my stuff is acting like its spring now- one Azalea started growing and blooming again (its not an Encore, this one's only supposed to bloom once in spring). My Japanese Maple started growing again and added about 2 feet. Rose bushes are growing and blooming like crazy. One apple tree has flowers. Even some of my spring lilies started coming up. Of course, there's the weather folklore I heard growing up about plants acting like fall is spring means it gonna be a cold/snowy winter.

I have some azaleas that are also growing and blooming, but I got them on the cheap at Lowe's so I figured they just over fertilized them to get a quick buck with no care about what that might mean come winter. As long as they survive...
