No, it should be earlier than that.  According to this CWG article the avg. first freeze at BWI is Oct. 29, so I would think it is maybe a good week earlier in the Westminster/S PA area, probably even sooner than that given the IAD avg. first freeze is Oct. 15.  https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/capital-weather-gang/post/first-freeze-of-fall-in-the-washington-dc-area-is-typical-by-mid-october/2012/10/12/8ecc969a-141c-11e2-be82-c3411b7680a9_blog.html

Cool, WBAL and WGAL this morning had the climo as Nov. 1st and I thought it a bit odd.

Climo for Adams/York/Lancaster/Carroll Counties for first freeze is Nov. 1st, correct?  This would be about two weeks early.  Still have a few farms with corn that is green and needs the two weeks to finish up.

That map looks great. Probably the most accurate out there.

BTW Freeze Watch posted for NW of 95.

thanks -- made in 2011, so not sure how out of date it could be. I could probably go back and tweak it, but it works for now.

Wonder if we might see some graupel Sunday. Sfc seems too warm for snowflakes but it's below freezing below 850 on the NAM during main potential time for something. Backside vort on departing trough is pretty powerful. Even some very marginal sfc CAPE. But we do have a sfc high building in as well and the location of the vort has shifted a bit N/E lately. Maybe.

Maybe in the hills. Pretty good low level dry column tho. Plus I don't think pure snow would make it with sfc temps AOA 50 but it could end up a little cooler..
