The Euro was so close to getting captured. It actually turned to the NW at hr 108 but ended up turning back NE at hr 120.

A few of the 00z GFS ensembles do the same thing, albeit somewhat closer to the coast, then up to near New England.

Man, if the Euro winds up being right all along its going to be funny seeing the mets scramble to change their forecasts. What a disaster. 

Reading DT's discussion from today (Sep 30) was really kind of interesting. I have been reading DT's posts about weather on and off for 12 years. Sometimes, DT is annoying. Sometimes, DT seems to say all the things that get people angry. Sometimes, DT is really accurate at snowstorms. Today, I think DT has a good point! The NHC is taking a compromise track for its full 5-day forecast. However, the models are in two pretty different camps- out to sea, and pretty big disaster with a turn to the left toward NC.
