Bob Chill
Crap. I fat finger deleted Ian's post. Sorry dude. It's either ride the CMC or enjoy light rain and 10 knot breezes...
ezweather
And people up here are still recovering from Sandy. No one wants this mess. Hopefully the GFS is just a baby step toward the Euro solution. If Euro ticks west, well...that will be scary. Thats the key.. If the Euro were to trend back to the coast, then yeh, someone is going to get hit really bad.

The storm should be captured. Its just..where and when?
BTRWx
Eerie... Some day hopefully supercomputers will be able to archive each model run or at least selectively archive the important runs.
Ian
This could be a huge victory for DT's hugging of the Euro.
84 Hour NAM
I'm all honesty it's best for everyone that it just scoots out to sea. With all the recent rains, no one should face the devastation it would cause.

This is probably just the GFS beginning its move to the Euro. Tho it did initialize quite terribly.
USCG RS
Guys, this probably belongs in banter, but you REALLY REALLY don't want this storm to come towards you like Sandy did up here. We had posters who we didn't hear from for a while, major major issues for months. It was bad. My friend lived with me for 4 weeks because his building had 10 feet of water in it and he couldn't live there for a while.I was pulling disaster relief FOR OVER A MONTH with Sandy, and folks this go around would be worse. I saw the devastation first hand on the Jersey Shore, Long Beach, and in Atlantic City. Our infrastructure is still significantly weakened and this would be stronger.... Ian
of course...Is there any other interpretation? The model just moved hundreds of miles in 6 hoursWhat a disaster if so. I mean yeah people should be prepared but last straw maybe. Explaining the official forecasts if Euro is right will be tricky.
SabreAce33
Only thing I'm not really sure about with this is what appears to be interaction with Ida's remains. Just seems a bit overdone. EDIT: Alright yoda, what's UKMET have for us?

Bob Chill
This is probably just the GFS beginning its move to the Euro. Tho it did initialize quite terribly. Seeing back to back euro runs that were basically zerox copies of each other pretty much had me waiting for a gfs run like this. When the ukie and CMC shift east shortly I won't bother sticking toothpicks in my eyelids for the euro. It was fun for a bit. Kinda like buying a mega millions ticket and dreaming about what if before the drawing.

ers-wxman1
I suspected this would happen. It intensified to fast. Capture...if at all is late. Wouldn't be surprised if it's all ots next run.
RUMG11
There is still a UL through that will attempt to capture Joaquin. Will it be enough to hold in is the question. And if it truly is going to consensus track OTS, seeing the media back track their forecasts tomorrow will be hilarious. Cantore better make his way north if anything. This type of commentary strikes me as wish casting. No wishcasting here, see where I live? It just seems odd (nothing scientific to back it up, just a hunch) that Ida's weak remains would cause such an eastward shift on a CAT3 hurricane. I get that the bigger player is probably the trough not coming in time from the West though. Glad to hear UKMET is a whiff.

It may have bombed out too fast.. which I think is what the Euro was suggesting. We knew the difference of like 100 miles in the area it's in could mean OTS or hit.
