bluewave
Still about a week away from shifting from above normal days and near normal days to cooler fall weather as the -EPO ridge drops a trough over the Northeast. That will probably represent a chance to reach some -5's or lower for NYC.

Cfa
Alternating between downpour and mist here with no in between for the last 15 mins or so, like someone is turning a shower on and off. Blue skies are moving back in though.

ag3
Looks like saying the warm areas of NYC/EWR getting to 80, was a good call.

nzucker
Definitely a warm day for mid October, and a bit humid. Looking forward to the EPO bringing down some colder air in the second half of the month. Average first frost here is usually around 10/20, and that corresponds to the time frame of the -EPO. EWR is always a few degrees above everyone else and was the only locale to do it. Had there been less in the way of overcast more of the area would have gotten there. IsentropicLift
The Euro is frigid for next weekend, especially Sunday. Temps could be in the 30's all the way to the coast early Monday morning. Highs might not break 50 in the interior on Sunday.

bluewave
If that -EPO ridge and NE trough verifies as amped as the EPS, then we could see some -5 to -10 fall temperature departure action around the peak of the cold.

IsentropicLift
The EPS also throw a bone to the late season tropical cyclone fans..20-30% decent ensemble development signal near the Yucatan. The GEFS/GFS has had this for a week already and its been largely ignored. Should something form, this will have first showed up at hr 384.
